Hi,

When doing rock scaping.

Is it better to have the coral & lr place off the glass for better water circulation.

Or it is OK to use the glass as a back support.

My Reefing Mission:-

To manage the waters and lights with efficient resources, disciplined husbandry and prograsive knowledge.

i think its has nothing to do with circulation in the water..the circulation depend on the waves produced by the powerheads & the return pump...

more ppl are concerned that the glass might give way if the rockscape is placed against the glass...but if yr glass is thick enough(eg.>10mm),it shouldn't be a problem...

Up to you. Just remember that some corals will over time encrust onto your glass if placed on it. Water circulation and lighting at particular spots differ from tank to tank so placing off glass does not necessary mean getting more circulation.

Cleaning of algae will be tough. Dun think the magnetic cleaners will be useful. Have to use hand and old credit card. Also, you might scratch your tank if you are not careful and accidently moved the LR. Best to leave a gap between LR and glass IMHO.
