bioballs in skimmer

nitrate is going to kill your LS u know..

pls correct me if yr msg is not communciate to me ritely..

yes...definitely know that...hehe...me not exactly newbie to nitrate problems lah..hehe

just thought of using bioballs to break up the bubbles in skimmer even smaller...

but bioballs normally come hand in hand with nitrate problems...

so...just pondering if practical or not lor..

Using bioballs in skimmer is not a new idea.

It is actually incorporated into one or two designs from the US. Can't remember which brand/model.

But I think there must be a reason why it was abandoned.... ;)

All ETSS use bioballs in the mixing column to breakup the water jet resulting in the mixture of air with water. It is still being used. There are only about 10 balls per foot of column.
