New Tank cyling now - need to ask qns

Hi, just got my nano cube 24g Tank today. Got about 9kg of LRs and a pkt of LS and also 5-8kg of 0 sand for beding.

Presently, i am cycling my tank with the black filter floss provided by nano cube. I have taken out carbon and ceremic stones as well as bioballs.

1.Do i need to put in the black carbon for cycling? What is the use for the carbon?

2. Can i on the lighting when cycling? how long should i on?

3. Will the tank be ok if i do not use market prawn to start the ammoine spike?

4. So i will leave the tank alone for 2weeks right?

hi, there is no need to intro the carbon into ur filtration system now....lightings are not required during the cycling period too....

introduce some nitrifying bacteria to speed up the cycling process...test for ammonia and nitrite before you add any new LS into ur tank...
