High temperature and nitrate level is what I have expected as well. My fan dead on me last month and I am too busy to replace it, the tank temperature went up 3-4 degrees for a month, last week I have changed the fan and the temperature is now about 28-29 degrees.

But I just could not get the nitrate level to reduce. My ammonia is 0 , nitrites is <3mg but the nitrate is off the scale!

I have added denitrate removal media (Seachem) for a month and changed the carbon media but it just does not goes down and I am changing about 50-40% of the water but still could not solve my nitrate problem.

As for lightings, not so sure what is the rating, but it has been with me for a year and the mushroom were booming when I added these set of lightings.

BTW, can recommend any chiller for my tank, the fan is creating alot of water vapour causing my table to be covered with a layer of moisture every day. My tank is only 1.5 ft x 1ft x 1ft.

Hi eric, I would recommend u to dose the AZ NO3 to help reduce Nitrate. I tried to do water change but to no avail results too :( Was told by a few reefer here tat by dosing it, abt 3 weeks results will show. Now I'm dosing it for a week already. Hope it does works. Try to clean the skimmer frequently and less feeding too. If u are also using some filter wool, do change them frequently to help further reduce the NO3 problem

Would u like to tell us ur tank size so tat we could recommend the suitable chiller :)

Thanks for the advice. Pardon me from been Shua Ku, what is AZ Nitrate?? Is it a brand? What is the full name and where could I buy it from.

My tank size is 1.5ft x 1ft x 1ft.

Not u shua ku, I also too when was told by my reefer friends. U could get it from petmart, quite cheap there. cost less than 3 red notes

As for ur tank size, I would recommend u resun 280. Good enough for ur tank. :D

AZ-No3 is a efficient product but an effective skimmer is required for it to work.

most likely your mushroom is due to bleaching and can be due to many reason.

(1) too high/ too low salinity

(2) lighting

(3) temperature.

As your tank is relatively small, your nitrate will build up fatsre than a normal tank even though your bioload may not be high. what testkit are u using BTW? ;)

2x1.5x1.5 tank

Lighting: AI hydra 52HD

Skimmer: Deltec SC 1455

Reactor: Minimax; rowaphos

Skimz  ; NP biopellets

Wave Maker: MP 40 WQD

Return pump: Eheim 1262

Chiller: Arctica 1/10 hp
