Leather

Hi, this leather that i brought last week doesnt seems to open :( (think it's called leather)

When i 1st buy him back, it open for a the 1st few days so i tot it's happy in my tank, but for the last 4 days, it remain like this all the while? Is there anytg special that i need to do with it? Anyone can help? *I hop it's not dieing....*

Leather corals tend to go into "Molting" once in a while. They will not extend their polyps and you might even see some peeling of the top area occuring. After which they will go back to the normal state of bloom when the lights are on.

Another reason could be what Bro Storm Trooper has mentioned. To be on the safe side do a check on your water parametres.

i used to experienced the "molting" in this coral.

After i've shifted it to a stronger current area(with occasional direct current blowing at it)

the so called "molting" did not happen again and it's open all the time.

if thin film is observed, it's best to use hand to wave at it using the current created by it to remove the film and it'll open again once the film is remove. :peace:
