read about the sea slug. Most of them are reef safe. They are very colourful and cute...

can someone share their experience with these creatures....

Thought of keeping some of them. think they will brighten up the LR at least..

:)

They don't have a very long lifespan and some of these when they die, release toxins in your tank and some of the reefers I know here have the experience of their tank being wiped out completely because of these toxins...

The only nudibranch (aka seaslug) that feeds on algae is the lettuce nudibranch. The rest usually feed on sponges or some parasitic ones, on corals...

Think carefully before u purchase one. If u need more advice, check with FuEl.... He is a nudibranch fanatic....

Hi, I agree that nudibranchs can be difficult to keep without knowing their proper diet. Some marine animals need to have a specialised environment to keep and most importantly to observe them.....Dun't want them "lost" in the main tank right? Try putting them in a small tank by themselves, with sponges and some gorgonians, saw a set-up like this at E**A*qaristP*ace in Siglap. ...quite nice really :D

The fella doesn't seems to like orange sponges but it definitely like blue sponges cause I saw LFS feeding them with that.

Does your slug stick near the surface most of the time?

Not really, but like to stick on the glass mid-depth. Is it cheap to get blue sponges? Also, it is easily to maintain these sponges as my tank does not have chiller. Or anyone got extra blue sponges to donate?

some nudis feed om sponges, some on flatworms.

however, the diet for most species of nudibranches are unknown....

so it would be unadvisable to try and keep one if you do not know

its specific diet.

most likely it will either slowly starve to death or eat you precious reef.

leave them in the sea where they belong ;)
