Exotic Fish In Singapore

Recommended Posts

I am a hobbyist in India and am planning to visit Singapore between December 24th and 27th to shop for exotic marine fish. I want to know the best shopes to go to so that I do not waste time going to places that are not reputed. I am looking for fish like the Achilles Tang, The Queen Angel, THe Clown Surgeonfish, ###### Naso Tang, Royal Gramma, Black Cap Bass, Cuban & Spanish Hogfish hust to name a few.

All the help that I can get will be greatly appreciated.

woW, sir...which part of india are you from...Are you planning to take the fishes back on plane????? Anyway Welcome to SRC. You will have a great time in SRC. Mainly Our Sponsors and affiliates are also very reputable LFS.

if you are think of exporting fish maybe can checkout coral farm....But their

fishes are limited...Its also quite hard to get to coral farm...all the way in...near the Quail farm at Lim chu kang. Every time i go there i see them

exporting corals and fish...anyway Hope you enjoy your stay in Singapore....

My 2 cents

Sir,

Yes addresses are very important as well as timing, most of the species

you have mentioned are exotic and only available at certain times or shipment. You may find common species of royal gamma, naso tang etc. Let me do some research for you on the rest. If possible.....

Here's a list of famous LFS's in singapore....Copyrighted to another reefer"arg" (http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=57318) and added some.

May I add that getting a taxi to and from the farms are pretty difficult because many taxi drivers would not know the location even if you give them the correct address. And it is near to impossible to get a taxi out from the farm.

Since you're here especially to procure the best fish, I recommend you hire a limousine taxi for half a day or even a full day.

This LFS is no more into marine hobby fishes. They are now back into the old business of selling seafood.

Yes..thats right...Security tight....i know of some whom bring live crabs from

china to singapore in styrofoam boxes...They put them into cargo....I think if

he need to buy fish....he need to buy 2 of each...like noahs ark...as the

survival rate during air travel is limited...More over our fish cannot fly...

they have to go through heat and tremendous amounts of "G"s for the body weight....

in the 1st place... i guess you have to check if India Customs allows you to bring them in? if not, better email the exporters here to arrange for you. You can always come down and inspect and select i guess.. :P

India custom? no need check. You have ruppees, you have passes.
