This fan each comes with both male and female connector.

Its very easy to connect the fans together using the connectors.

With these Al Cheapo DIY setup, I'm able to maintain quite stable temp + water level + salinity.

hmm compare DC fan and AC fan which 1 is better ? AC seem like stronger but it nt really safe rite .

Not at all.

The DC fan is very very light, unlike AC fan.

I mounted it this way because I dunno should I be fanning the water or the PL.

This way, it covered both.

Hi onghm, yr tank is open at top n with fans blowing, doesn't everything surrounding get sticky with evaporated salt water.

Even my parquet is sticky n i have partially covered hood with 1 fan only!

i do have a hood on top.

Its rim along the width is 8.5cm and rim along length is 1.5cm.

From the water surface to the top of the hood is another 9cm.

The hood does get sticky but I don't have any problem with the floor.

If the floor get sticky, my wife will be the first to complain

hey same old probelm with the tigeress at home here

for my case....i blow direct onto the water surface...my tank no hood floor sticky...yes...but jus mop it when the tigress not around lor...if not sure kena complain

becos my DC fan comes with a mounting device(those made in taiwan)....so jus blow direct onto water surface

if u get fan, only a little noise from fan

if u get chiller, u get hell lot of noise from wife

and i think chiller gives off alot of heat & consumes lots of electricity(maybe someone using chiller can comment on this)... i dunno becos i never own a chiller b4 however, my ultimate aim is still to own a chiller one day maybe the day when i strike 4D anybody out there can give me a 'kang tao di'

fan and wife both also noisy.

chiller very quiet, but if wife knows how much u paid for chiller, then yr house more noisy than using fan. By the time yr wife cools down, everybody in your block will know how much an aquarium chiller costs!

I think we should give reward to the first person who can DIY cheaper chiller.

using 1 fan each for both my 2' and 2.5' tank.... temp could go around 26~27 deg..... the tricks is not how many or haw fast your fand spin. If you want the temp to go down to the bottom, make sure your tank have enought space to contact with the fresh air.... no conupy or cover. My 2.5' tank using 2 x 36w 10 000k PL + 1 x 30w FL actinic.... dun believe it?? can come to my house in Yishun.

in addition to the air circulation around it the fan...i also believe the tank size matter hence bigger tank = more fan needed

and also the distance between your fan and the water level plays a part can't expect a fan to do it's job if the fan is 0.5'-1' away from the surface area rite...

My fan is place 3" above the water level with gd circulation of fresh & cooler air (like wat tigershark said)

AC or DC fans are easily available at Sim Lim Tower. All sorts of size. You can even get a turbocharger!

Hi,

I bought my ac fan @ $22 ard 4" in size. quite powerful. I saw jurong west selling at ard $18.

The fans I mention are ready to use with electrical plug already connected, just simply plug into power source
