4" AC Fan

I'm looking for a good brand for 4 inch AC Fan for my new hood. Anyody used one before that is not too noisy?

At the moment the hood is fitted with two 110V 50/60Hz fans, I was wondering if it will spin at twice the speed if plugged into the mains.

you can silent a fan by using those circular air filters and secure them on the fans

juz curiuos ... why did you say it will spin twice as fast ?

juz get a step transformer from 220V~240V to 110 V ... can use back yours

I know what you mean, I thought that a new fan might be cheaper than a transformer and one less thing to go wrong.

Nature Aquarium sells single AC fan.

But i cannot remember if its 4 inch.

Price i think is around $20 to $30...

why need a fan if u got a chiller?

The fans are for cooling the MH and VHO bulbs. It comes built in with the hood.

Go to Sim Lim Tower and replaace those fans with 230VAC units. GEt a Japanese branded fan with ball bearings not bushings. They cost more but they are quiet and last for long time.

I was at Sim Lim Towers last week and couldn't find any ball bearing AC fan. They have it for DC only. Anyway, I got two Toyo for $17.50 each. Silent enough for me. I added rubber bushings/washers between the fan and the hood, it cut down the vibration noise a lot!

Saw some Japanese DC fans that he brought in from Japan.

There's a note outside the box saying it can cool down 2 to 4 degrees.
