"Be formless... shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle; it becomes the bottle. You put it into a teapot; it becomes the teapot. Water can flow, or it can crash. Be water, my friend..." - Lei Siu Lung (Bruce Lee)

something to ask.. can I do a re-scape with all the live stock still in the tank? Currently have 3 tangs including 1 regal, 2 angels, 2 clowns, hammer, frogspawn and mushrooms.

Wanting to re-scape for sometime, but worried it gonna stirred up debris and have ANN spike.

It is best to remove all the livestock when you perform a full rescape. Its just like having exhaust fume inside a confined room, you don't want your livestock to breathe or drink their poo, yea? :nuke:

I took out all my Angels and Tangs out before doing full rescaping of the tank... Just to play safe :peace: I crush my Light foot crab while doing that... now left only one. lol. What a terrible accident.

Thanks for the link, bro. Besides the scaping info, there are many other useful information in that webblog too...e.g. whether light alone is sufficient for photosynthetic corals...which is no as mentioned in that his blog and explaining why, his experience in various nitrate controls methods...

If you are doing a full rescape (removing all live rocks and re-arranging them to a desired structure), catching the fishes is as easy as scooping them out. You don't need to coax your fishes to get into the beta box...

Even I took out all the Liverock, it still impossible to catch my damsels with just "a scoop". Unless u have a very big net. haha.
