How long for tank cycle

may i know how long must i wait for a tank to cycle i tank now got 1 month + liaoz and the nitrite is @ 0.1mg and my ph is at the max 9 got any way to make my ph low ??

urh. no such thing as a time frame for cycling. as long as NH4 and NO2 are at zero with NO3 as close to zero as possible, it should be done.

No specific time, can range from 3 weeks to 3months or even more.

You may try some chemical to speed up the cycling process. those that promote the growth of good bacteria

well it would take sometime man.. patience is the key.. if i were u i just wait and start saving up hehe..

the cycling depend on the LR you are using and if is not cure it will take a longer time to cycle cause there will be more dead stuff in the LR and will produce more no2 and the good bacteria will take a longer time to convert no2 to no3 ........

IMO....I think 2 months is okaie.. my tank cycled for two months when i started... no prob...

my experience on

cured LR-4wks

uncured LR-2mths

do water change a least once a wk of about 10-15%.

do not further add salt.

the more often u re-scape ur substrate(LR),the harder it gets to monitor ur actual ppms for nh4,nh3,no2,no3.

if its uncured rock, yes as there may be dieoff.

everytime you add a lifestock in, the ammonia cycle starts again. just that this time round this is bacteria to help break it down. so the cycle is much faster as compared to a raw tank. (=

yesh.. there is no time frame... i already cycled for 1 plus month.. nv put in live stock then went for community service in bangkok.. now just got back yesterday.. will be adding in life stocks soon... mayb today??? yesh...

icic eh may i know when i buy 1 poly than i put it in to my tank and it almost all open than i put 1 snail in to my tank and the snail go to my poly than i take the poly away and the poly nv open liaoz how come ah ? and today i buy 1 more new poly back and it open fully
