my tank: 48"x30"x36" with SPS, can this light support?

Length is not a problem, because I am using same length, my tank size is 48x24x30. Frankly, I've not try it on sps yet.

I can let you try my existing light for 2 days, because currently it is not in use (tank cycling). I will refund you 100% if you found not suitable. If ok for you, replace you with the brand new one, they are equally power rating.

Thanks

I've use many types of light PL, fluorescent and MH, so far this is the best lighting. Gives me no worries and the light intensity is very constant. When I do service my tank, no need to be worried about getting my hand and hair burnt or hurting my eyes. :peace:

We all know...

Metal Halide by 10,000 hrs, 40% of the lumens are lost.

LED by 50,000 hrs, retain 70% of lumens.

This LED light is low cost but it is powerful and built and well design by professional, it had replaced my MH 150wx2 without problem. If you interested my existing 6-month old one, get together, I can give you great offer. The reason for let go, because I want to downgrade to lower power rating.

Base on quick-and-dirty rule 0.5 WPG is medium light, 1 WPG is high, but this doesn't take into considerate of depth and others factors.

You should need 2x 150w for high light.

Do you know Coral bleaching could possibly occur using high wattage hot lighting instrument?

An interesting article show you an experiment.

http://www.advancedaquarist.com/2006/2/aafeature2

Author conclusion: "The solution is, in some cases, not a chiller but an effective and efficient lighting fixture resulting in utilization of lower wattage lamps."
