3 months old tank.....

Quite a hard time to find alantic blue light T5 1 feet long....

Finally got it in Jalan Kayu fish farm.

With one newly installed alantic blue light. Coral look much brighter now.

8 watt.

got it from the 1st fish farm (non-marine) at the T-junction after turn in from singa flora.

yes....using air pump for the tank and also the reflow section.

Is it? I did not know about this.

Always thought that it is good to have some sir circulation in the tank.

Then maybe i only focus the air pump in the reflow section.

take yr time to stabilise yr tank...yes, having a consistent temp of between 27-28 will be good for yr corals and fishes...n do weekly 10-20% water change will also help....

Update :

10 Apr 10

Finally managed to get a 2nd hand chiller from the pasar malam section.

A little over size for a 22G tank but that is becos thinking of upgrading in near future.

Time to get started to fix the piping.

Luckily read up some of the setting up in SRC and got more idea on how to fix the piping.

Managed to dig out one old pump (1200ltr/hr) and using it for my chiller.

So, i got 2 pump working. One for the return flow to main tank and the other to chiller and back to middle chamber.

Anyway, thing isnt always going as expected.

unable to fix the outlet to the main tank as the return flow is not fast enough.

So, have to fix the return flow into the middle chamber at the back. Refer to attached pic (1599 & 1600) for more details.

Also, i listen to advice given by one of the SRC brothers and removed my air stone and air pump.

I feel that coral is getting bad after putting aeration to the tank and chamber.

Had DIY a feeding guide but failed. In the end decided to buy one instead. A nice blue "fexible shape" feeding guide. (pic 1601)

Finally managed to find T95 which is very near my place.

The place is really a paradise for marine reefer.

Got lots of clownfishes.....and more.

Cant help but bought 3 items to add into the tank.

They are the anemone, sea cucumber, yellow feather duster.... (refer to pic)

Understand that going to be difficult to maintain. So, i did lot of readings......hope can better understand their care and need.

Anyway, i failed once in keeping anemone some 8 years ago, so this is the second try.

Also hope that weekly 10 - 20% change will be able to maintain good water condition.

Anemone is sill finding its preferred place by moving around the tank. (pic 1633)

Look like have to let it settle down fist then i re-scrape to suit its preference.

Pic 1631 - 1632, clownfish finally start to host the anemone.

Took more than 24 hrs before one brave clown (of cos the largest one ~ female leader) dare to host in it.

Shortly after that, the remaining 2 also join in the fun......

Yes. I set my temp at 27 deg. And doing weekly 10 -15 % WC.

I do think the temp (cos no fan and hit 32 deg) and my recently added areation play a play in their poor condition.

Modified the design and DIY a better one. Very smooth in ensuring good water flow back. (pic 1640 and 1645)

Re-scrape again to accomodate the moving creature in my tank. (pic 1666)

Anemone is beautiful in a tank, but just be careful of its movements bro..i had bad experience with it. Wiped out my tank in 5 minutes

Hi, Ya

I actually bought it before reading enough. Read a lot in SRC and a little bit regret....

But after seeing my clownfish so happy in it, decided to give it a try.

Had been changing at least 10% of the tank water every week since started.

Also, bought some anemone food to make it happy.

So far so good. It sort of sticking to one place. Only problem is that its preferred place is at the front of the tank.

But at least can see my clownfish more often.
