Hi all,

I am thinking of getting RIO pump for chiller..

Just wanna know if it is very hot and noisy to use?

All feedback welcomed...

:thanks: :thanks:

I use RIO for both chiller and return. V silent, at least it's silent enough for me. Heat wise think ok not hot as chiller and temp are all normal after i startusing RIO. IMO rio is the best among the cheaper pumps.

rio is good, after eheim i choose rio.

used rio20uf for skimmer pump and it works like a bull :eyebrow:

most important, it's much cheaper too (compare to eheim)

Thanks for all the feedback.. Guess I will just go for Rio den...

Personally, I find it pretty noisy compared to Aquabee. My HF17 have a constant humming sound. I can't hear it usually as the water splashes sounds supersedes it.

Another thing to note is the ratings, they published are at 0 losses. I am not sure about other brands but my AquaBee 3000L is definitely stronger than my Rio.

Rio HyperFlow magnetic drive aqua pump HF 17

Flow rate :4500l/hr (0cm); 4140l/hr (30cm); 3190l/hr(120cm); 2500l/hr(180cm)

Max head : 310 cm

I believe the hose is about 3m and passes through the chiller. Maybe someone can share some experience with this as well.

I can only tell you after I have fix up my chiller... but I am using the 5400lph should be RIO 19 bah... Cant remember...

I have 2000lph extra for the headloss... 3m headloss is quite a lot and RIO might not be able to pump so far/high?

i do feel that the pump is not as powerful to handle headloss. better to get 2 size bigger if u intend to use this pump... i m trying out HF17 with is abt 4500l/hr. but the performance is worse than my china made unknown brand of 4000l/hr. but as i juz using as a 2nd return, i dun mind the poor performance....

Got sound, I cant heard it as my return is louder than that... I think if you close the cabinet should be okay..

Currently using Ehiem 1260 for 3ft, so thought of changing to HF17 or HF20 :whistle !

Isit ok to use for return?
