reducing bioload the common meaning is reducing the amount of fishes in the tank.

less fish => less poo => less ammonia created => less nitrate/phosphate (i think). :eyebrow:

so the system can be more stable.

Imagine you keep a 4 feet fish tank with 30 fishes rather then just 5 fishes in a 4 feet tank.

more easy to manage

So it only refer to fishes only?

Other LS like coral consider?

Vertebrates (Fishes) are active contributors of bio-loads because are have a high metabolic rate and thus excrete a lot more compared to invertebrates (Crustaceans & Corals).

Ic...So meaning those that required to eat solid food wan will be those that contribute the most poo of all?

Apart from that is there any disadvantage for reducing bioload?

bro dont really get what you want to be exact, able to let us know what are you trying to achieve?

reducing bioload = less fishes = more sian :eyebrow:

? re-ducing bioload = less fishes.

it will be boring to just see a few fishes swimming in your big big tank :eyebrow:

So basically no disadvantages la?

Only suffer from ''Sian ingness'' lol

to the reefing environment, there should not be any disadvantages for have a low bio load...

however having a high bioload would potentially kill off your reef system IF you do not remove the waste efficiently..

With an increase of animals in the tank, additional filtering means should be added and/or replaced more frequently. Water change is also more frequent and higher %.

Additional animals means more food and more poo. More nitrates/phosphates will be present and the water will be more toxic, the animals immune system will get deterioated, and easily get sick and die.

does the bacteria grow according to the number of fishes in the tank of the amount of surface area you provide, eg biohomme, bioballs, coral chips, etc... :)

Technically Yes. Bacteria colonies increase and decrease base on the availability of food source and substrate which they can harbour.

So meaning to feed our fishes the amount required is also very important to bioload reduction?

Yes. Frequent small feedings are preferred over a single large feeding. The same amount of food fed over more frequent feedings will be digested better by the fishes, leading to less waste excreted.

Always something more important than fish.

yup! one of the important phases in bacterial growth.

anyway to threadstarter.

less fish = more space = less competition, less social stress = happier fish = less disease

less fish also = having to feed less = less waste produced = cleaner water

less fish = use less oxygen = higher oxygen levels

and many more!
