My Weipro skimmer is not foaming well

Any adjustments in the pump? Increase or decrease water flow?

Ya there is a knob where i can increase water flow but if i increase .the water level in the skimmer will be uncontrolable and it will shoot up within seconds.so i tune to half only and then turn the skimmer value to the right water level

I use to control the water level in skimmer using the skimmer outlet valve not the pump valve. Pump flows to the maximum. Inbetween i am not using weipro pump.

but i heard form some members in SRC that they only takes 2 days for the foam to built up .But it is aready the 8 th day >..?? so i am worrry for my fishes ??? as well as my skimmer

Don't worry too much. Look on the bright side, maybe your tank has nothing to skim

thanks ozy for your encougrament (spelling) .But how long u when the skimmer is new to get the foam. Some of them got it for just 2 days and lots of foam came out >but i gave it a period of 1 week 2 days and yet nothing comes out??? BTW my tank is just 2 months old..but 2 months old thank still must have foam right so. Confused here

hi, i'm also using weipro 2012 and weipro 3000 like u ... now i have dark brown color skimmate ... i think it's the adjustment of ur pump and the valve on the weipro.

try adjust the pump to about 3/4 or 6/8 full and the same time, turn ur valve on the skimmer to let it flow fully. u can see the bubbles in the skimmer sometime will create a tonedo at the top ... then, slowly adjust the skimmer to close the valve ... once the water level is somewhere at the CUP-black rubber ... stop!

mine skim for the above setting ... hope it works for urs too ...

I think ur water level is high and that's why u are getting light skimmate(very diluted).

THANKS SpaTanS andBarraCuda? for your pic as well as your reply but why is there so much tiny bubbles in the skimmer it self .My is quiet watery with lesser bubbles than SpaTanS BarraCuda pic. how to make it have more tiny bubbles .i am using the same pump weipro 3000 as spatans is using but his bubbles in the skimmer is much more than my .PLS advice. And why BarraCuda take only two days to foam so much black skimliate?? getting worry as days goes by

Don worry.... i did not use any skimmer for the last 6 months n my corals and fishes r doing fine..

in fact, my clown fishes has reproduced.

maybe u can try and adjust the skimmer tuning higher because it might b 2 low the pump that u bought is powerful enough but the skimmer adjustment is too low told u just now at the shop right...hehehehehe....

yes, water lvl is too high and i've adjusted it ... now

it'll have some skimmate and it's quite dark in color ... but it takes quite a longer time ... maybe say 3 - 4 days ... will post new skimmate pic later ...

sorry guys .. i have found out that the skimmer is not working propley because of my pump .. i never tune my weipro pump to the maxium it can go . And now there are much more tiny bubbles than before in the skimmer.I am giving it another day to see any improvement

hee hee... it is always the fundamentals... I remember I used to test a system for 3 days but never got it to work properly. Finally I realised that the system date was wrong... #@!&*^%

Anyway, good luck to you GB. My 2014 is already skimming stuff within 2 hours... So you can guess how terrible my tank is...
