My first ever marine tank 5.5x2x 2.5

Hello, just sharing my marine tank. It's an office tank that my parents so I can't really control the stocking but ohwell... It's nicknamed the Tang tank because we have super a lot of Tangs! (coincidently Tang is my surname :rolleyes:)

The tank itself is approximately half a year old.

Specs:

Professionally set-up

Total ~600L including sump.

Hailea chiller (unsure of model)

Reef Octopus skimmer(unsure of model)

Biolfiltration is carbon, foam sheet, and coral chips.

dosing beneficial bacteria once every 2 weeks.

Current Livestock (plus their stories)

Fish:

Purple Tang (came with setup)

Yellow Tang (came with setup)

Orange Shoulder Tang (juvenile. dad bought. super greedy!)

Powder brown tang (2nd try, so far so good)

Sailfin Tang (2nd one. i bought the first, dad bought the 2nd, then 2nd fought 1st to death. 1st one super cute leh.. 2nd one patter uglier :( )

2x Hippo Tang

2x Fox Face

Longnose Butterflyfish (dad bought.)

Blue-throat trigger(came with setup)

Clown trigger fish (my dad's baby.. only around 2 inches now. waiting for it to turn agro.....)

Lori's Anthias (came as a pair with set-up, one passed away a few weeks after intro)

Orange/Dispar anthias. (came as a shoal with set-up. only left one.)

3x Bartlett's anthias (came as with set-up.)

Maroon Clown

JUMBO Tomato Clown

2x Clarkii (used to be a pair, now they fight?!)

3x Electric blue damsel (will sometimes shoal, sometimes just ignore eachother, and some times fight like mad...)

Eight-Line Wrasse (came with setup)

Cleaner Wrasse (dad bought. i'm against keeping. BUT IT EATS MYSIS/DAPHINA/CYCLOPS AND (tries to eat) PELLETS! :thumbsup: )

Coral Hogfish (came with setup)

Falco Hawkfish (came with setup)

Longnose Hawkfish (came with setup)

Algae Blenny (came with setup)

Purple Firefish (came as a pair with setup, one passed away a few weeks after intro)

3x Red Firefish (very small, recently bought)

Blue-eyed Cardinal (came with setup as a shoal, all except 1 died)

Pajama Cardinal (came with setup as a pair, one died)

2x Banngai Cardinal (bad bought. might be a pair.)

Inverts:

Cocos Worm (came with setup! favourite <3 )

3x brown featherduster worms (came with setup.)

White/brown double-headed featherduster (came with setup.)

2x Coral Banded Shrimp (came with setup)

Sally Lightfoot Crab(came with setup)

Looks good! That's quite a stocklist though, so you got to take note of the bio load. Do get your dad involved and interested in researching these fishes, so that he will understand their needs and do his best to meet them.

wow, looking good, and that stock list is pretty extensive :)

so there's a fish tank guy who comes weekly or bi-weekly to help u guys manage the office tank?

As for Algae Blenny losing weight question on the other post.. Probably try get some empty coco worm shell for him to shelter.. they will feel safer with this..

Yep, but during the week I do my own maintenance whenever there. Top up water, test parameters, dose additives, etc.

Gonna cut down on maintenance soon though, tank maturing nicely.

Can i know who set the tank up for u?

Iwarna. IMO they did a pretty good job, just that you might want to consider switching the lighting after awhile as the ones they provide are a bit dim and tend to overheat. I changed mine to LumenAqua LED.

Also, biofiltration might be an issue if you end up stocking the tank this heavily. I added Seachem matrix and those bio-home tubes (Dymax brand) this week. Might get some rowaphos to treat the algae... But for now, I am dirt broke.

ANYWAY, a Lobo and an Elegance were added recently.. though the elegance tentacles are like.. short and fat. Not long and flowing...
