Senior Reefer yikai Posted September 28, 2011 Senior Reefer Share Posted September 28, 2011 that male watanabei is a female that is only halfway in it's transition to a male. genicanthus angels are hermaphrodites and can change from female to male, and back from male to female. but even with females, sometimes males may just revert back without notice. not sure why too and this is not fully understood. klyve
got inspired by Klyve's "Nano" inside sump concept.. decided to do something with this empty space i have in my sump.. any ideas? 1) pack the compartment with beautiful clams? reduce the level of sand 2) collect different kind of gobies? 3) keep slow moving LS like seahorse and pipefish? and no i dont think i'll convert it into a frag tank.. haha... Bro put a few clams and gobies inside... SRC Member pokmingsheng Posted October 4, 2011 Author SRC Member Share Posted October 4, 2011 Updates: my pair of clownfish laid eggs last night! saw the bunch of eggs behind them, almost scrubbed them off thinking it was some yellowish algae.. upon closer look i saw the eggs! first time seeing fishy eggs, got very egg-cited! but i doubt the frys can survive in my tank... cant take a clear picture of the eggs, will do so if i get the chance Quote My Decomissioned 2ft Cube: (31st March 2011) Carpe Diem~!!! SRC Member pokmingsheng Posted November 14, 2011 Author SRC Member Share Posted November 14, 2011 My breeding pair of clownfishes! they lay eggs every 2 weeks... always so sad to see these babies end up as fish food... their eggs are always laid on the main rocks, not possible for me to remove them... i've placed small rocks around their area, hopefully one day i would have the chance to raise the babies.. one of my first few inhabitants in my tank i've been thinking if i should find another partner for it.. not sure if its easy to pair them... a pair of flame angels would look very nice.. surprisingly, always so shy...
