  1. Actually Jewel and Gonio is different. Jewel is common name for Alveopora sp. Flowerpot is the common name for Goniopora sp. Their number of tentacles are different. Goniopora always has 24 tentacles while Alveopora has 12. http://www.wetwebmedia.com/gonioporapix.htm http://www.wetwebmedia.com/alveopora.htm Sorry bro for going OT. Cheers JC
  2. Resolve the problem from its roots. At the meantime, do 50% water change as frequent as possible. Cheers JC

  7. Interested in ur Sawn off Maxijet 1200 (2yrs old or so, used as wave maker) - $25. Where is the collection place? JC
  8. 10ft is quite a distance. 1262/4 will have suffered quite a fair bit of flow at such distance. U might wan to consider using a pressure rated pump. JC
  9. Lovely coloration. A truely rare fish that is endemic to Hawaii! More Pixs, pls. Cheers JC
  10. R u planning to run the eheim externally to cut down on some heat? Why dun u consider getting a bigger pump to combine 2 of the 1262 & 1264? There are a few choices and can save some space & electric bills too. I'll run the chiller return to the main tank for better efficiency. The Tee for FR can come from other pump too. Cheers JC
  11. I'm also interested to know why ozone will affect FR? Did u confuse FR with a skimmer? JC
  12. Those "mouldy" stuff are normal. Its juz those aerobic bacteria doing their job. U should be having quite high NH4 and NO2 now. Will probably take another 2 weeks or more till the tank is cycled. Having lots of patience in this hobby is very impt. Cheers JC
  13. Hi guys, Do let me know if any of u have any maxijet to let go. Best is working. If there's any faulty one, do let me know also cos I'll need some of the parts. Cheers JC

  17. Elegance is one interesting coral cos reefers have been having mixed result with it. Some are not able to keep it beyond a month, some have great results. Maybe u wan to hold it abit later till u have gd result with hammer/bubble. Cheers JC
  18. Nvr bread a velvet to a velvet. Velvet (TOV) is one of the lethal factor. The other is white. Thus nvr cross bread them. The kit will not develop beyond the embryonic stage and high chance of complication to the mummy chin. To anyone that is thinking of breeding or is breeding chin. Pls do research more b4 embarking on it. Regards JC
  19. Is this Gobiosoma evelynae? If so, I'll take them. Cheers JC
  20. It take 111 days from pregnancy to birth. If both parants are hete beige, there is a 25% chance of the kit to be standard grey and it impossible to have a ###### kit. I'll advise anyone to breed for the better of the genes and not juz breed randomly. If u check ard, there are alot of sub-par chin in singapore that have been abandoned by ex-owners. Cheers JC
  21. imo, cloudy water is not a gd sign. The water should clear after a fwe hours even if u are usign coralife salt. One possible reason of cloudy water could be due to bacteria boom going on in the tank. Mushroom detach from their base due to stress. Most often due to water parameters or too high a flow. Regards JC
  22. Look more like an standard grey, imho. Any idea what are the colors of the parents? Cheers JC
