  1. Ricordea Yuma (Yumas): Ricordea Florida (Rics): Mushroom: Ok just kidding... Corallimorphs (Mushrooms): Can see the difference? Prices vary according to market demand, availability, colours and where they originate from.
  2. Jacky, I've seen 1ft cubes with 1/15 or 1/20 chillers. IMO, an iceprobe with an external temperature controller added is sufficient.
  3. Haha heard you talking about your kopi maker the other day. Hopefully you will get back into reefing after striking it rich as a world class barista
  4. Hey it was great meeting you guys too! Thanks Larry for making this event a success. Also, thank you Lemon for the Sony™ lemon custard tart, Desi for making the tiramisu instead of charcoal muffins, Gouldian for stationing himself at the BBQ pit with cooking duties despite the humid weather and other reefers who brought drinks and makan. It was nice meeting you guys
  5. Actually the strict rule to be enforced is that they shut up and not pretend that it is anything else other than an eye candy contest. No need to act smart and talk about world peace. That said, I feel bad for the girls who get whacked like that. They have friends, families and more importantly, feelings. Hate the game, not the player
  6. Bro, paiseh... misread the tone of your reply, thought it was a hidden insult. I prefer people to openly insult me... like Ray! HAHAHA Actually back to the topic, Miss Singapore Universe is different from Miss Singapore World. This one a bit more atas, the franchise is owned by Donald Trump. Miss Singapore World is like the retarded cousin of Miss Universe, in a previous life I used to work for a beauty pageant organiser... I'll just say that I wouldn't be surprised if the dodgy practices (how they determine the winners) alleged by the media last year were true
  7. LOL! 4th from the right same row is quite okay what, why crossed out? I actually thought she has the most character out of the lot. From the ones that are not crossed out, you can more or less tell what's the public's opinion of beauty liao, cookie cutter syts haha.
  8. So you experienced the J-shop's sales tactic first hand liao, not bad bro, not many new reefers recognise the symptoms haha. The bottle of pods you got, are they live ones? Store them in the fridge if they are live pods. Either way, micro organisms like these, they make good coral food. I dose phytoplankton and DT oyster eggs every other day and my super suns seem to be opening well even without target feeding.
  9. Lol, got lost in your analogy, how come out of nowhere 3 million people join MY special olympics? I'm a very easy going person and I don't mind if you call me retarded -- don't need to be passive aggressive about it. Yes, it is a beauty pageant and it is not unfair to judge them based on their looks. My previous comment was just a reminder to stay classy and not to devolve to the level of other message boards where armchair critics spout shallow comments just because they can
  10. All of you damn harsh la, IMO at least 50% of them are pleasant looking and the rest are either average looking or have more exotic features. Quite representative of the population as a whole cos let's face it - we are not a nation of super models. The photography hasn't done anything to help also hahaha. Stay classy, reefers
  11. The volcano that spews charcoal muffins :x
  12. WTS the following: Assorted zoas from GO, 2 different kinds on a flat 3"x3" rock, colour a bit faded, was much greener before I put it in the shade - $15 Assorted Indo zoas, at least 4 different kinds, fist size, nice ball shape (* it's the ball of zoa on the left. Pink palys not part of the sale) - $5 MWTS the following: Red and green zoas bought from bro LYK's decom, should be rare but I don't really care to ID it - $20 Luminous green hammer coral from GO, bought from bro Lemon - $30 All photos above with the exception of the top down shot of the hammer coral were shot within the past week. I reserve the right to withdraw the items from sale, and to sell to whomever I am comfortable dealing with.
  13. LOL! Thanks again Milch, the first thing she asked is 'can eat one or not' For those who don't know, the inside joke is that my gf was in a bad mood that day. Told Milch that I was gonna return home to black face zoa.
  14. Haha didn't see your reply, was about to edit my post. The acrylic thickness was 8mm, not 8 metres! LOL... Your chaeto growth is impressive, that's the difference between my 1.2W LED and your 4W LED haha. Mine only grew 30% after a month.
  15. Has your tank been cycled bro? That is reeeeeaaaally overstocked. I suggest you sell off or temporary house some of them in another established tank (your friend's or LFS's). I think 9 small fishes is not unreasonable for a 1.5ft cube, but with tangs and so many other fishes added at once, you will experience new tank syndrome.
  16. Thanks for the compliments! Not very happy with the tank at the moment, but will take things slowly so as to not get burnt out and lose interest lol Wah don't give you frags will I get banned? Hahaha. I also dunno if I can sustain large colonies of SPS in my tank or not, everything is still experimental at this stage, learning as I go along. If they do grow, you'll be top of the list! No problem bro, you got my number now! Sorry I forgot to reply your PM lol, been really busy, sometimes forget little tasks like that. Office is in the East, near your home. Home for me is damn far away though haha.
  17. The second pic you posted looks like gonio polyps, if they really do retract into a "hole" then it is probably a skeleton. Majano and Aiptasia don't have skeletons, they are soft corals like other anemones and sort of ball up or curl when retracted.
  18. To add on to Jacky's reply above, you are cycling the tank to cultivate bacteria in the live rocks and filter media, these bacteria will be responsible for your biological filtration. Cycling with sea water is faster cos it contains natural bacteria from the sea which will add on to the existing bacteria from other sources like live rocks. Synthetic salt mix is mostly sterile, but you can dose bacteria to speed the process up.
  19. Wooo! Nice pics! I like the super saturated colours, super edible candy galore
  20. Eh if you manage to get this past your CO, might as well go all out and get a larger tank
  21. Bro, sorry to hear about your casualty. Yup, carpet anemones have one of the deadliest stings and are predatory by nature, have to be careful with small fishes, not the first I heard of this already. Sometimes fishes will chase each other until they bump into the carpet anemone and get eaten lol. After the coral rx treatment, I think you can relax for a while and observe if the corals are doing better. Add a yellow wrasse soon
  22. lol thanks! I think the tank is quite full liao with the current scaping. Have a bit of space on the right side of the tank and thats it. Have been resisting the temptation to rescape, will let the new corals settle down first before doing a major rescape. Siang, the blasto did not grow out of nowhere la, my tank not so . I bought that from another reefer last weekend, it was a small frag of zoas that grew onto his blasto skeleton lol. Anyone knows what the brown polyp sps is? monti digitata? Yah man they all grew to at least 2 inches in diameter! Feel like eating them too.
  23. Some SPS frags from Cedric: Frags from other reefers: Can anyone ID the frag with green base and brown polyps? Quite nice and really bullet proof, I left it in a plastic bag without water for half a day after getting distracted, it still survived New zoa colonies: The third colony above has a mini colony of baby blasto heads at the top, damn cute haha! Ray, the sibling of the orange yuma I gave you, still going strong lol:
  24. Some photo updates: Love this colony of metallic pink paly... Got it from ambystoma82 when I first joined the forum, most melted, and from 4 polyps it has grown into a colony. Got this strawberry crab from Milch yesterday! Love this cute little bugger... Thanks Milch, for accommodating my schedule yesterday, it was nice meeting you!
