Ian you could purchase those eballast which only fire up 1 tube. Meaning you have to buy 1 Twin tube eballast and 1 Singel tube eballast. Hope this helps.

Dont soak in freshwater. Either you dip in freshwater or pour hot boiling water over it should you feel that there is pest inside which refuse to come out even after a quick freshwater dip.
