  1. i started my reefing with the bukit timah shop too... their methods are kind of back dated and they still advocate undergravel... best is to still do the necessary research, the internet provides a lot of information, up to date reading material is also neceassary. trail and error will only cost more money and loss of LS in the long run. times change, methods improve. the results speak for themselves. personally, i i were a newbie, i'd go to ML at Hong Leong. Henry might charge more but he is HONEST and he gives good advice. if you know what to look for, go to the farms like CF and LCK or L. Halus, you might get a good bargain.. personally, i find stuff at OP reasonably priced and Thomas is a stand up guy. spidey, have to disagree with you here. but as for ROYGBIV

  16. got 2 sets of Osram ballast QT-FQ for 2x39W T5 tubes and 8 waterproof endcaps. was going to DIY 4 T5tubes but upgraded to MH instead. untouched, unused because i'm a bum and i kept procrastinating. also i'm electronically challenged. you'll still need to get the wires, tubes and plugs though. asking $120. self collect from the south.
  17. describe them... best if u have a pic... candidates are: bristleworms---not so bad flatworms---'Houston, we have a problem', in any case, they shouldn't be coming out like that, maybe you should check your water
  18. spiderdude, how about a pic of the new one?
  19. found it http://www.advancedaquarist.com/issues/sep...2002/toonen.htm i have a rock but seems to have bleached and the porites are receding, maybe it'll recover under my new MHs worms are still there though, but think lesser now, this is when it was 'Brand new' a few months back
  20. its not the worms you need to worry about.. its the symbiotic porites coral they live in. think theres a very informative link somewhere here. i'll see if i can find it
  21. heres an excert taken from http://www.wetwebmedia.com/seacukes.htm trust me, you do not want to have a cuke nuke
  22. Sea cucumbers are good for clearing detrtus and keeping your sand bed clean. provided the sand of a small enough grain.... but there are dangers to keeping them, trust me i know i do see many reefers keep the black cuke and the tiger tail though
