  1. i saw this gadget when i was out with my wife, the salesperson claims this device will reduce electricty costs while maintaining output of wattages. its $120 approved by PSB, 3 yrs warranty. anyone uses this or knows if it really works?
  2. how's this for ugly? this is just a few days growth, if they grew in the main tank... i'd
  3. 124, but after question 15, i started to tikum liao,so ..... i might be dumb but lucky, hey, i can live with that
  4. lots of things come out in the dark, worms, pods, crabs... mostly to feed or scavenge. i think you are referring to bristleworms in your tank.. very normal
  5. Hey Hey Hey!!!! i'm back!!! GUESS WHO GOT DRUNK???? started laughing hysterically at jokes that were not funny... and asked the waitress for a bl*w)0b oh man...look at the time... gotta wake in like 4 hours.
  6. i currently keep grapes caulerpa among others, on the advice of another reefer, i peered into the deeper regions of the cluster. true enough, some where going asexual although those grapes on the exterior were very green. anyone has this situation too? do i need to trim it so that its not so thick? i read from another thread that its ok for caulerpa to go asexual, means they're looking for a more suitable place. so far its not crashed so....
  7. 4!! hows about some pics dude!! heard there were gold maxes, did you get it? was hoping to see some black ones, but no...

  11. looks like a garden snail actually
  12. i just saw this guy, abt 1inch long. must have been hiding all this while cos i've not added LR for a long while.... anyone know what species? is it reef safe? guess it must be... still i'd like to know
  13. i've been using mine for a few months now. i get nothing.... very little skimmate. bubble below the O-ring... there's some gunk inside, its broken in , but still very little. but i only have 1 trigger in tha 2f which i feed every other day so... maybe thats why
  14. Happy Birthday !!!!! phew...another 5 mins and it wold have been to late...
  15. the cup...at least i think it is
  16. here are some pics of my mushrooms... heh heh
  17. i just got 2 last week.. so far no problems... will look and see if any snails go missing though
  18. you are right man.. camels almost every other week will have... peppermint? never seen here before... i wonder why? maybe cos they originate too far to import easily
  19. ok i wil see if i can get pics of my mushrooms, i have the giant cup mushroom(Amplexidiscus fenestrafer), blue mushroom actinodiscus, and green mushroom actinodiscus. at least i paid for them lah, i have some random mushrooms that came with LR, or the rocks with zoos and other corals that i got...so no count lah..i got one white one that i like, free! heh heh but as a side dish???shitake still better as for websites... uh, is it ok for me to post links here? ang mo sites also reef what. and usually if the shrooms come from the indo-pacific, they can be found here in S'pore. so ang mo or not, still pah kay la... but i get most of my info from books that got, i have the macmillans guide, the conscientious reef aquarist and one more... cannot remember the name.... some i borrowed from the library... shrooms usually need medium to low light la, .. i add strontium, iodine, calcium and trace elements once a week unless i do water change... truthfully, last time i also see nice coral...see beh gian.. BUY!!! than go back and check the requirments...heh heh but kanna burn too many times lah... coral so exp, die also my heart pain man... lucky shrooms still cheaper.... k, tomolo then
  20. clown trigger, wah..post pics ah?? too many kinds la...heh heh why not find out what kind of shrooms you wan before you buy? there are a few websites that can tell you their light and supplement requirments before you buy them.. usually i place them where there is a moderate water flow and light... some of my shrooms usually detach and make their way around the tank... at first i thought it was cos they were dying, but they did well wherever they reattached... but most mushrooms are easily maintained by the beginner reefer, so as long as your light and water parems are ok... you cannot go wrong with them.. , good lick
  21. what kind of urchin is it? some eat meat like your inverts... i read somewhere that some hermits eat CA too, but spread it when they $h!t, and the CA grow from there. maybe its the same for urchins? i also have no exp with them, i was tempted cos they feed on detritus too but decided not too as they require lots of space and are clumsy. but i have to agree and disagree... green algae, again depending on what kind, will usually give way to CA if the water parems are good. good luck though
  22. shroom just need light to survive... they feed through photosynthesis of the symbiotic algae zooxanthellae which it hosts. different shrooms have diff light requirments, some need more, some need less. so you might want to check what kind you have and place them on a suitable level in your tank. jason is also right, they need to have iodine amd trace elements to thrive, so you need to add those on a suitable basis. good luck on your corals
