  1. Different suppliers will have different pricing to importers depending on stock availability, livestock handling, and other associated costs. Because of this importers will never have the same pricing for the same livestock. It's as simple as that.
  2. Will consumers be willing to pay more for labelled livestock? Only minority will be willing, majority will not. Just look at the topics started in the forum and you get the idea. For instance: Where can I buy the cheapest yellow tang? Farm scenario: $6 for small cleaner shrimp. Customer ask : "can cheaper if I buy 2?". I just roll my eyes.

  5. They are not interested in supplying overseas. I have asked in 2011 and in 2013. Other stuff which will work more or less the same will be Reef Nutrition R.O.E and Dr G's Caviar Max.
  6. 2ft cube, small volume. Simple Solution just install a UV sterilizer. Use one that is big enough for 5-10x turnover tank volume per hour. Most people use units too small and complain they don't work.
  7. There are a few species of bryopsis, some may be more palatable to seahare than others. Personally mine ate the thin feather type, I've got a video of one munching off these algae from frag plugs. Different types of seahares may prefer to eat different species of bryopsis, it's an experiment. Personally I observe that bryopsis do not like high salinity and low nutrient water. I keep my salinity at 1.026-1.027, nitrate 0, phosphate 0, bryopsis and valonia both find it hard to survive.
  8. Not many specialized breeding forums around besides marinebreeder.org. There are however few conferences a year in Indonesia for foodfish which often involves marine ornamental somewhat whereby protocols are often shared. Not forgetting World Aquaculture Society, next conference is said to take place in Indonesia. Alternatively there is RAW Conference in the U.S.

  22. For once we beat Hongkong to rare fish. Singapore had a trio 2 months ago. Unfortunately wrasses are very tricky to ship. Even if they arrive alive they need very careful acclimatization.
