  3. woah.. 100 of these??? You starting a factory ah bro? hehe... Upz for u...
  4. I am running just that, skimmer, fuge, then return.. logic being that the skimmer will pull out the inital gunk, the fuge will purify the water before the final return...
  5. if its turning white it's either dying or going asexual which will cause it to cataclysmically die off... better keep an eye on it.. Nice photo BTW!!! very clear
  6. Ahh.. swing check valves, those are the ones to get as they minimise head loss.. some valves are spring activated, so it depends on the water pressure to open the valve, which as you can expect will cause headloss...
  7. That's a very weird comment... DOC get back to normal, if anything it would be better if your skimmer got rid of all the DOCs right?
  8. hahahahahaha that's damn funny lah... he even re-did the adjusting HP part...
  9. if it IS photoshopped then the person who photoshopped it probably is pretty sick as well...

  11. That was the old theory, new theory is that you don't need a sand bed as it in fact traps deitrus...
  12. dude careful with that weipro pump, the wires are exposed already... if used in water will probably have leak sooner or later...
  13. i know of attract people... makes u more popular etc but they say that one dangerous coz u have to entertain a lot of people or what, in the end spend a lot of money... well anyways, anyone has 1st hand experience with them? haha... last time my army buddy also try to psycho me to become interested but even if I was the amulets are way too expensive...

  16. huh what's that? can't make it out...
  17. are u serious? I've literally taken the infected rocks out of the water, gave them a good scrub down and rinse and the algae STILL comes back!!!
  18. well i found a work around which basically raised my pump to about 2" below the water surface, now gotta get rid of the microbubble problems...
  19. Hi guys, I just upgraded my sump and I transfered my exisiting macro needlewheel skimmer over, however it stopped working once the swap was made. The pump is working fine but no bubbles, the only way I can get it to bubble is either: 1. Move the pump REALLY REALLY REALLY near the surface, I mean really near like almost at the surface 2. Restrict the inlet of the pump with my fingers or some other object, this seems to work very well, a lot of bubbles but at the same time a lot of microbubbles are escaping from the skimmer and I don't think this is how it was meant to be used.. So how how? Right now the needlewheel pump's inlet is about 6-7" from the surface of the water, do I need to move it up? If so how do you guys usually do it? Thanks! Ervine
  20. not sure abt that bro... but the spring ones are also prone to becoming not effective after the spring starts to weaken...
  21. the cheap ones run on springs and will have a lot of headloss, I forgot what the other type that run on flaps is called, those are expensive and hard to come by...
  22. my gf and I hardly ever have plans, most of the time we just hang out at my studio or just walk around the neighbourhood... no fancyfull meals and expensive outings for us... occassionally there will be the "I want to go shopping" days.. but then there are also the "I want to go see fish/coral" days as well.. It's a give and take thing man... sometimes u gotta do what she likes, sometimes she gotta do what u likes... best if u can both do things that u like... erm... safe clean things i mean...
