The "GROUP DIGI" shot...

Digitatas are indeed one of the easier SPS to try... however, they do have their temperaments... Core parameters (e.g. Ca/Kh/Mg/Salinity/po4) should be in check before embarking on them.

Last "before/after" shot...

Note: colouration has some difference due to taken under different lighting condition. Before: 4xT5, After 250W MH @ 20kk bulb and 4xT5)

Trying hard to keep this monti growing, wishing it will be my centerpiece soon.

beautiful SPS you got there!

my only successful SPS in my tank are my Montis and the radioactive birdnest..

cant keep my tank parameters stable enough to take on more...

great idea to take "before" and "after" shots,

must be very satisfying to see growth over the months...

Hey Ig, thanks for dropping by...

Indeed monti and RA BN are great appetizers for sps keeping.

Sps, though tougher to keep as compared to lps and softies... are most rewarding as they grow well when the conditions are right.

You can actually see the growth, e.g. within 2 months, u can see some sps changing them shape.

Again, another month has passed... took some quick pictures... this time with mobile phone camera.

Been busy with work, so less time to do WC and parameter testing... apparently KH and CA dosing solutions were empty during my short trip to Europe.. fortunately, no major losses.

It's getting messier by the day... some corals have encroach unto others and start their territorial fight... just trimmed some this morning and have somewhat decided to do a minor rescape to keep only bigger colonies... just have to find the time...

Awesome natural looking reef tank !

Can tell that you are busy, the coraline on the front glass is either left there on purpose or simply no time... :P

Hahaha.. you know me well bro! It's the latter.

hey bro, just went thru your tank thread page by page, very nice tank!

Do you have a picture of your sump and whats your routine like ?

Hi bro... hope the information has been helpful for you. My sump is now in a mess, will try to take a shot soon.

Routine, I'll share more in details shortly.. stay tune...

Thanks bro!

Wow bro..Your tank is seem to be doing very well . Good luck to the golden angel, hope it survive

Thanks Larry, been busy with work, just spending minimal maintenance now.

Some corals have overgrown and started territorial wars...

I'm keeping the golden in my sump for the moment, doubt it'll stand a chance in Display Tank.

i read from somewhere that it is not recommended to QT this fish, and it should be release into the main tank immediately where there is plenty of live rock to graze upon .

Ya I agree with bro harlequin in this. I got mine few months back and at first I put it in a betta box. But it looks stressed. So I've decided to let it out in the main tank. And you can see it grazing on the rocks from time to time.

Hi all...

It's been quite a long while since I update this thread. There is a reason for this. Although it is not a good one.

Some time late last year my chiller thermostat broke down and coupled with an erroneous clearing of beneficial bacteria-laden ceramic rings.. my tank suffered a "crash".

With that, years of effort of sps care just gone down the drain.

Thereafter, I took a break from sps and kinda just slowly concentrated more on fishes.

And after about 6 months of slow collection... the tank is now fowlr. With remnants of the former sps outlines.

Fish list

Tangs:

Yellow

Hybrid Powderblue

Sohal

Achilles

Angels (L):

Queen

Emperor Juv (without tail)

Pygmy Angels:

Paired Flame

Coral beauty (full orange body)

Coral beauty (full blue body)

Sherpadi

Venustus

Others:

Paired flamehawk

Paired bartlett anthias

Paired true perculas

3x springeri damsels

Hopefully can get a chance to own a scribbled angel if it is still available by tmrw.

Till next time...
