After much delay with my tank setup, its time to post the spec of my reef basin too ..

1)Reef size

6.5ft x 2.5ft x 2.5ft

2)No. of MH. Type and Wattage

3 x 250watt DE 10K BLV + 2 x 80watt T5 blue2 on dimmer (just change my MH to AB 10K bulb 2 days ago)

3)DSB, Phleum, Denitrator or non

Using DSB. Not a true DSB thou, from 5inch slope down to 1inche ..kee..kee..

4)Sump ( whether you have a incorporated Refugium / Filter Media / DSB)

Using a huge sump tank of 4ft x 2ft x 2ft. Water filled to the rim, no refugium and filter.

5)Skimmer (Brand and Model)

Tunze 3160 comline skimmer.

6)Calcium Reactor (Brand and Model)

AquaMedic 1000, for tank up to 1000L only <_<

7)PH levels

8.10 before light on and 8.29 just after light off.

8)Alk levels

10.3 dkh as of 3 Sept 2003

9)Calcium levels

No test kits ..kee.kee... But can tell its low!!!

10)Chiller (HP and Brand)

Hailea 1200CB (1.25 HP)

11)Total System (Water exchange/circulation rate per hour)

Sump to tank return using iwaki mx70 = 5200l/hr

2 x tunze stream 6100 pulsing from 7200l/hr to 24000l/hr

4 x tunze turbelle 4002 pulsing from 7400l/hr to 14800l/hr

So total circulation is from 19800l/hr up to max of 44000l/hr

Picture of my tank can be view here. Thanks to Tanzy for the pics.

ai[k²]wan,

Joe,

The AB bulb is beri white as compared to BLV. Its actually a 13K bulb but they market it at 10k. I having problem with the 3rd shipment, they are many RTNed .... pulling my 1st and 2nd down the drain also... :(

Hey Joe_P,

Was browsing some old threads and came across this one by you almost ten years back :)

In the spirit of SPS keeping, I'll chip in my specs as per your decade-old request :P

1)Reef size (dimensions in inches) - 3' X 2' X 2'

2)No. of MH. Type and Wattage - Things have certainly moved on since the days of using Iwasaki 6500Ks. 8X39W T5 ATI bulbs for me

3)DSB, Phleum, Denitrator or non - Shallow Sand Bed (SSB)

4)Sump ( whether you have a incorporated Refugium / Filter Media / DSB) - Small fuge with chaeto but doesn't grow much due to probiotics.

5)Skimmer (Brand and Model) - Skimz Sk251

6)Calcium Reactor (Brand and Model) - No CR but using dosing pump with TLF's A & C solutions

7)PH levels - 8.0 to 8.3

8)Alk levels - 7.0 to 7.5

9)Calcium levels - haven't measured for awhile but the last reading was 420 ppm

10)Chiller (HP and Brand) - Daikin 1 HP with titanium coil

11)Total System (Water exchange/circulation rate per hour) - I reckon 30X turnover per hour
