Give it a bit of time, dose bacteria, allow for biopellet to set in, get some cleaning crews like snails, narcissus and turbo maybe some brittle stars, abalone, etc to feed of the algae...

Run a phosphate reactor over time should settle down if you also watch ur feeding :)

manage to find out what causes the algae boom. my MP 10 flow was set to the lowest. after I set it to half bar, algae gone. I got the buffer but it was 8.3 then it drop to 8.0 to 8.1 again. try a few times still same

does biopellet outlet not flowing to the skimmer have any effect on nuisance algae?

just read that if output of reactor not pointed to skimmer , the effulent will feed algae breakout in the main display, could explain y i have 0 no3 and po4 but still getting gha outbreak, but my skimmer is gravity feed and the reactor cant fit into the overflow, so now try to plump the reactor output into the refugium and see what happens, feed the algae in the refugium 1st

Interesting  must really go do some research as my reactor output directly point to return pump and so far no algae issues yet *touch wood* i must have done smthg right somewhere...

Think PO4 level is not affected by adjusting flow per see. Something in the tank is introducing PO4 into the bulk water. Most common source is food. Other source of PO4 is from contaminated rocks and sand.

Its still in the cycling phase, more algae, diatoms, cynobacteria, hair algaes will come, be patience dont add more live stocks, dose bacteria will help. Now its 3 weeks, give the tank 3 months to stabilize. Focus on siphoning at detritus on rocks or bottom of tank.

Cheers,

James
