I think you shd place the skimmer where water level stable. If water evapourate at return pump will affected the skimmer.Anyway nice tank and enjoy ur new marine setup

tansh right, the insump skimmer canot be place in the last chamber where water fluctuate due to evapouration...u will not be able to tune the skimmer properly.

unless u r using those dosing pump to act as topup else it seem quite hard to maintain a constant water level.

Too many hobby......too little money!

Thanks both for advice. You are right. . it's a little hard to keep the skimmer consistant.

bcuz the width is only 21 inches, first chamber is 8 inches. left approx 12 inches for return pump and skimmer .

Unable to add another glass panel as per advice of the tank maker.

Still waiting for the skimmer to kick in now and will monitor from then on.

Any issues with micro bubbles getting into the display area? I used to have a similar setup, and I had baffles too, but it didn't help much. Had to put sponge to help get rid of them.

Surpringly no micro bubbles despite skimmer and return pump in the same location.

Could be bcuz of Skimz SM161 design, the water output is from below, hence minimizing the micro bubbles?

Tentatively fowlr tank as I have another existing 4x2x2 reef tank. May have some simple corals that doesn't require excessive light.

anyway I be travelling and i have to wait out the cycling process
