ok then must ( ON or OFF ) the power plug switch????

On or Off make no differet.

The Earth point is not control by the ON/OFF switch.

Please take note that grounding probes are not ultimate voltage and current leakage absorber solutions.

Depending on where you place the probe and where the source of leak is, you could be electrocuted still....ie if you place hand between the leak and probe. It will always take the shortest path.

No only the shortest path but also the lower resistance path.

Anyone know exactly where to get the titianium rod? Checked with a few bike shops in North sector but can't find it. Thanks.

On the other hand... I did recall Tanzy had a write-up on possible negative effects of using it... something to do with the chemical inbalance or something....

dun go to those ah pek bicycle shop.... go to those higher class ones :rolleyes: they sell all short of bicycle spoke... from alloy to titanium....

I bought the spoke just below my block- Yishun Ring road, Bk 264, hope it could help those who stay nearby...

well other then titanium spoke.. i think any metal is wont rust will do wa...

well, true enough, if you have gold & platinium laying around unused (eg, gold chain, gold bar & etc), you could use it as a probe .... other than that, I can't think of any suitable metal....

there are plp who use carbon rod but because it is a semi conductor media, i dun think it would be ideal to be use as a probe...

I discovered that Gillete Blades (crocodile brand for shaving) made of stainless would not rust eventhough it had contacted salt water some 2 months ago.

I used it to slice off silicon stains left on the glass when I repaired my leaing glass at the time. I did not wash with tap water and there is no sign of rust. Maybe it could be used as gounding probe B)

BTW, there is some Malay words printed on the packet "DISALUTI DENGAN PLATINUM' - I think it means with Platinum, anyone care to comment?

I used pen-knife blades before for my other job, it rust teribbly.

Bought a grounding Probe.

Correct me if I am wrong but we are supposed to connect the 'Circle' piece to somewhere OR leave it dangling while the Probe is in the water ??

Any Electrical expert here to advise ??

I am not very sure if we really need to DIY and put a ground probe to drain away runaway/nuisance current.

I thought any "proper" elecrical appliances with grounding/3pin plug like the Chiller would be able to drain away all these runaway/nuisance current.

I used to experience a little of tingling shock whenever i put my little finger in my sump tank. But after i installed my chiller, the tingling shock thing is no more.

So do we need a specialised ground probe?
