SRC Member nicreef Posted August 12, 2013 Author SRC Member Share Posted August 12, 2013 loving the lilac anemone.. great updates bro! i love it too...if only it would stop moving up to the sps Wow,another solid tank, waiting for more updates thx last update for sometime i think...recape tank and added after adding all the frag in.: fts from top fts from door view (ie: what i see every day when i enter the door - perks of a shallow tank): the rescaping done mainly to the right of the tank: Top left with minor rescape done to the rics area (added a lobo and blasto to the area) lobo with mandarin (my mandarin keeps hanging out around the lobo. probably becoz it came from a very matured tank so have lots of pods for him): btw are the green patches on the lift rocks cyno? my algae snails crawl through them and they tend to remain. growth is over where there was once white caroline algae

SRC Member nicreef Posted August 29, 2013 Author SRC Member Share Posted August 29, 2013 mandarin, a very challenging fish to keep. need sustainable pod cultivation to survive unless u can train it eat pellet! have a great weekend! mandarin happy. Many many food. Pods grow well in refugium indeed. Been busy lately doing some re scape of tank thanks to the carpet anemone that kept moving towards sps (had to relocate him again today after previous attempt only worked for a couple of days). Hopefully the new spot works. Also took some pic when feeding with all pump off and this are some of my favs. still my fav sps in the tank. moved it to a newer spot with more light and flow. nom nom nom Got this at the frag sale held by MASS sunset millie

SRC Member nicreef Posted September 2, 2013 Author SRC Member Share Posted September 2, 2013 Nice looking frags. thx... lucky to get such healthy frags from fellow reefers. very green sunset mille but only green when see from top from side still quite brown. It is already at the highest light area. lighting is at 63% or white/red/green and 75% for the 3 blues...still considering if i should increase it up or perhaps bring down my light set since it is located around 1.2 feet above my tank. Updates: Are clownfish known to jump that much? This is my second clown that committed suicide in approx 1 mth plus....still considering if i should head down and get this 1 replaced....pocket got hole liao.. busy moving the anemone around as he kept moving up towards the rocks. seems like this guy likes the light and flow as he kept moving towards my sps, causing some damage. finally after a few minor rescaping, relocated him here and he seems happy. got inspired by lemon lemon shrimps and went to get a few from ML last week. too bad there was only 1 sexy shrimp avail. blasto frag from MASS sale that i had to relocate so as to accommodate the anemone. (lots of good buy than...really regret not getting the SSC frag): Fight with ich in tank still going up and down. came back on sat to see the condition worsen after a few days of recovery on my AT. ich also spread to blue tang. good thing is they are all still doing well. Below are some pics of them from my desk (they only gather there when i am seated on my desk...stand up liao all the tangs run away) nemo, yellow, bluey, blacky and mandarin. when your powers combine i am captain fishy! SRC Member nicreef Posted September 19, 2013 Author SRC Member Share Posted September 19, 2013 Removed my bio pellet thanks to advise from snr reefers as it is creating red slime in my sump and DT. Too much of a good stuff can be bad i guess. No3 is now hovering at approx 5 since than. However, my sps seems happier and the polyps are growing much nicer. added new frags: bubble gum orange passion (the colour when it was a dr ang place was much impressive...somehow in my tank standard drop lol) red dragon azura dragon(suppose to be blue but in my tank become purpleish red) ssc frag (still waiting to colour up after 2 weeks or so) Also my first attempt at fragging: frag 1 frag 2 frag 3 mothership after fraggin: tried my hands on one of the zoas but it drop off my pincer and cant be found after that. prolly will try again in the future. other good news is that my picasso clown has finally hosted on the anemone after trying brain coral and zoas. The sole survivor out of 3 (the other 2 kamikaze out of the tank), i am glad he has finally settled down. Only bad thing is that the position of the anemone is very near the wp 40 as such pellet feeding him can be harder than before...not to mention my tangs tend to snatch the food faster than him in the first place). Finally: all fish (blue tang, yellow tang, clown fish, leopard wrasse, Melanurus Wrasse, are feeding on pellets and frozen food except AT (feeds on frozen but not pellet.... the AT follows the other fishes to the pellets but just sees them eat.. hopefully he will follow suit soon). Ich wise AT still having it on and off. Sometimes huge outbreak somethings none. Other fishes seems fine so far. Stopped dosing polylab medic as of monday (16/09). SRC Member nicreef Posted October 14, 2013 Author SRC Member Share Posted October 14, 2013 updates on some new frags (got quite a few only posted a few of my fav): ORA Roescoe Blue Tenuis Reverse sunset monti Spartan ice fire (hope it grows to be what i see if so think it would be one of my fav sps) latistella new anemone (created a new scape hoping to form a anemone garden but guess it kinda failed...updates later): Growth: my colleague was commenting that my clam seems much larger. I guess staring at my tank everyday made me unable to see any growth at all). before: now: from the anemone which used to cover 3/4 of the clam, now only cover less than half guess it really grew. garf bonsai growth sunset millie: coloured up to brown back to colour (i hope) to to for the anemone garden story: was trying to form a anemone garden on the front of the tank. Did up the rockscape on fri and left office happily with all anemone there. Sadly my carpets has other plans and decided to move from the area for anemone to a rock full of zoas (from red area to current location in second red circle - not sure how it got there) needless to say all my zoas (which i just moved to that rock on friday too) was buried beneath the mouth of the anemone. manage to dig out some frags but those that are at the centre of the rock are gone case i guess since the mouth of the anemone is firmly attached to the rock liao. current FTS
