Trade Mangrove anyone? ...

Fresh batch of mangrove seed specially drifted from the indo pacific islands south of singapore , available for trade . Don't need to trade with fanciful corals. Any zoa or GSP or cloves frag will do. Don't even have to be on a frag plug .. If u wanna try some mangrove in the sump just snip 1 or 2 heads of your zoa any colour or GSP or cloves put them in water and we can trade ..

For trade with drinks.. East side Friday and Saturday collect at 11 calshot road. From morning till 4.30pm ,

West side CCK crescent collect after 6pm

For trade with frag east side , I can deliver on Friday and Saturday 4.30pm -to 5pm

West side after 6pm.

Sunday trade with drinks collect @ 11 calshot rd after 4.30pm , before 3pm collect @ CCK crescent

Sunday Deliver to east side for frag after 1.30am only.

Like to clarify on the placement of the mangrove. You just put them directly in the overflow compartment or sump, similar to freshwater aquarium whereby those bamboo canes are added without the need for subtrate?

Yup, just put it there and watch it grow.I also spray fresh water everyday at the shoots or leave like normal plants.

Some highlights:

One notable exception may be magnesium as mangroves have been implicated as a measurable draw on the element.

Pruning red mangroves is a sensitive matter, though, and a rather moot point for most aquarists. Even under the best conditions, mangroves really are slow growing for most folks… taking three or more years to even get 2-3 feet tall. If you must trim your tree, be sure to delay any pruning until after the axial tip has branched. Damage to the growing tip before it has split can be fatal to young specimens.

There seems to be a misconception amongst reefers that mangroves are good in exporting nutrients.

You will need about 20+ mangrove shoots to see some very little significant decrease to your nutrient levels. So unless you are willing to have a tank full of mangroves for nutrient export, you're wasting your time with mangroves.

You are better off using cheato instead. And mangroves are really easy to obtain from the beach.

Here is a thread that I've started years back on a mangrove experiment. I was able to make it grow with just raw TAPWATER. How much nutrients do you think it exported?

Good experiment there Mr Firestarter , and a good post, I believe that this is to inform guys here more about these mangrove which has been mentioned in many articles and reads that were linked and easily googled. And especially where to easily get them.

And to those who have read the above post as it was intended for and feel that they have not been properly informed and have been done unjust.

Please please please contact me for a refund of your bottle of coke/frag.

And to those who wants to go to the beach and easily pick up some mangrove , please do so and share some here. (Go early before the Banglas do their morning cleaning runs) good luck .
