SRC Member seamonkee Posted February 23, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted February 23, 2004 There is a possibility of unintentionally offending sponsors during the exchange of opinions... they help keep this forum alive with their support and fundings. Igloo
Personally.. i dun think there is anything wrong w discussing abt us.. myself as a sponsor.. its impt to know feedback abt us and things like that.. many a times we pissed pple off without knowing and the worst outcome is that they walk away never to return again.. profit is impt.. so it frenship.. trying to seek a balance is the ultimate goal... suppose we see someone who complaints abt us.. and one day he pops up at my forum asking for price.. at least then i know i did something right.. the matter of fact is.. most of the time.. u dun even know when u do something wrong cause they just walk away. Last thing i need is someone who thinks that he has more right than u cause he is paying for his time. my own opinion.. does not represent other sponsors' view
FuEl
Hmmm...ok..then I start... Igloo...to facilitate your sales I think a good coral identification book should do the trick. Providing scientific names can be more accurate as common names can lead to lots of confusion. I can see that most of your LPS are rather reasonably priced for CITES corals. Condition wise looks rather healthy to me. But best to provide scientific names for new hobbyists to check up on them. Common names might come up with wrong information during web searching. FuEl
Octopus bay and eAquarist have my thumbs up! For their prompt reply and helpfulness. So does edmund from eAquanature. He actually delivered salt to my house 1-2 days after CNY although he had something on. RAV-65
Personally, I must say Igloo have my thumbs up... I casually asked for a certain coral, and 2 days later, he sent me an sms telling me that he might have located that coral... It was to my pleasant surprise, coz it's not a common one dat you can find everywhere, and the fact that he found it so fast shows that when he said he'll keep a lookout foe me, he did! Achilles Tang
By all means, you can go ahead and give your feedback as long as its objective, unbiased, matter-of-fact, and backed up with evidence and we all have your word that what you have said is the truth and you are willing to stand by it and thus be contactable for verification. Weapon_Master
I think constructive feedback will be very much appreciated by the sponsers. This way they can possibly improve even further and thus yield more business. I have personally been to a few of their shops. By far I must say I have no complaints about attitude, friendliness and helpfulness. Thx again for you hospitality
SRC Member arcanehacker Posted February 24, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted February 24, 2004 There is a possibility of unintentionally offending sponsors during the exchange of opinions... they help keep this forum alive with their support and fundings. Personally, I dun agree to it as there's a tendency for members to give comments rudely or bluntly... Just my 2cents.... I dun think so. As a responsible retailer/sponsor etc, it is good they get feedbacks be it good or bad. Its a way of improving what they lack in and maintaining what they are good at.. If one is not willing to accept bad things about them, they would just be childish.. .. remember that no one is perfect.. Lame, blunt or stupid comments we will know.. as there will always be rebuttals from the majority... Quote Why do we use "My 2 cents worth" when 1 cents are not legal tender in Singapore anymore? SRC Member alanseah Posted February 24, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted February 24, 2004 well one thing I must say is that if feedback is bad on them and just because they are sponsor we cant talk bad about them. They wont realise that they have a bad name and thus lossing customer everyday..end of the day they got no business how to continue be sponsor here without income.. Sponsor eaquarist Posted February 24, 2004 Sponsor Share Posted February 24, 2004 Wow, this forum is just getting better ....as a sponsor, I agree wholeheartedly that feedback, be it good or bad, is definitely of great importance for business improvement. I suppose when the need arises, the forum also allows sponsors the chance to clarify matters if misunderstood in any way. EAP relies on valuable feedback to constantly change and improve ourselves. We welcome your responses
Achilles Tang
If you want my personal point of view. No one is perfect. The admin, the mods, the sponsors, the snr reefers, the new ones. It is good for us to learn from our mistakes and shortcomings. Some people will not WANT to be humble and thus be very defensive if criticized. They will never improve themselves if they don't see the need to improve. I don't see why sponsors can't be given feedback on how they run their business as all of us are their customers/potential customers and I am sure this forum will facilate good market research and feedback for themselves. My 2 cents, AT

Achilles Tang
SRC has recently gotten a thumbs up from a LFS which is very established in the industry. They have never gotten good reports from us on the way they have run their business and treated their livestock... in fact, their reputation with us reefers has been rather err... black. I don't want to say who it is but it starts with 'R'. I quote (the boss saying this to me) "SRC is a good thing. It is not our enemy. It is a mirror for us. We can see our own reflection via the feedback from how our customers and we will know exactly where we are." (But of course, he went to say that every business does things differently and can't please everyone). I nearly fell off my chair when the boss spoke to me this way... I half expected to be thrown into a vat of sea urchins. It did warm my heart because sometimes we can be rather harsh and critical with our words when speaking about LFS. I was glad they could see the positive side of our comments.

SRC Member alanseah Posted February 24, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted February 24, 2004 For Octopus Bay, thump up.. he is one guy who is a gd businessman.. act fast and give reasonable price.. always lookout for business. Will visit your shop one of these when I'm free. As for eaquarist also thump up.. a shop that look gd and relax. price still ok but service provided it gd. And I love their email notice about what stock coming in so as to save us the trouble to travel around looking.
SRC Member tidur Posted February 24, 2004 Author SRC Member Share Posted February 24, 2004 i came up with this topic becos of Coral's Ark's recent post on their stocks. i noticed that they are not knowlegable enough about their stocks eg bleached vs rare, nor do they really know the name of their stocks. i feel that as a retailer, they should know their stuff well in order to project a better image and instill confidence in customers. just my point of view, not that im an expert or anything. jus speaking from a user/consumer point of view. SRC Member woonming Posted February 24, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted February 24, 2004 I am also open to all comments Hehe .... But if the issues would to be in concern with any fish mart that carrys and market Reefez's products. It would be best if it could be done via a pm and not an open posting here.
