djarth
Had this Naso tang for several months, it was eating, till recently it stopped eating. I Tried all kinds of food from Brine shrimp, to live ones, bought a whole rock of algea, dried seaweed, formula one pellets and flakes..... It just eats and spits it out. Any advice anybody? Thanks
Crab
I think probably it's not feeling well. Check your water parameter and change water. Hope it gets better.

SRC Member tiger Posted March 14, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted March 14, 2004 Show any sign when she died, like ICH or fungus etc? Naso are really fierce eater, like mine.
djarth
Nope, it was spotless, no signs of injury or anything...... Suddenly decided not to eat and wasted away. Worst part saw it die right in front of me...traumatic man.... It was swimming and suddenly it sank to the bottom, and the body turned to black. Its so annoying, was doing so well All the other fishes were eating like mad

IanJ
I am no expert on this, but i have seen this on many of the naso tangs available here. They either start to feed and stop and die or do not feed at all and just die. I can only think that it is the way they are caught, perhaps cyanide or other method which causes internal organ damage. I had several bad experiences, finally went to Coral farm to be certain of a healthy specimum. It was money well spent. Of course you need to have a well managed tank as well. SRC Member patrick123 Posted March 16, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted March 16, 2004 I agree with IanJ. It could be cyanide poisoning and starting to kill the fish inside out. BTW, can someone tell me the address of Coral Farm and how to get there? Thanks, Patrick

djarth
Just curious, will cynaide remain in the fish's system after 4-5 months? Any indication of poisoning beside the color of the poo? CF is a little pricey, i guess i would had to pay a hundred for the large specimen that i got...(2.5in tail streamers) However if i really want a certain rare species, think i go there for security. thanks for sharing my woe
