please help to ID this snail. Not sure if reef safe or not.

Has a small shell and moves very fast.

Look like abalone... But it is not hairy ler...

I have the exact same slug like looking thing in my fuge.

Does not seem to bother anything except grazing.

Moves faster than Nassarius.

Abalone perhaps, can't be sure.

If it helps, I have some exiled buttons, and mushrooms in my fuge which is largely ignored by it.

its a Stomatella varia, a harmless algae feeder.

Will put them into my reef this evening.

They must be the fastest moving snails I've come across.

They breed rapidly too but becareful not to disturb them as part of their flesh will drop off if you try to peel them off the glass. They act as a decoy just like house lizards

wow so interesting! I supposed when you warn me not to disturb them you meant that the part that drops off will rot and pollute the water right? Very interesting...
