make sure your tank has enuff oxygen during the off period.

add a air stone or pump.

Very difficult to say without knowing your tank condition/ bioload etc etc.

Your tank might be just barely scraping thru with the skimmer oxygenating and extracting the filthy stuff from the water and a 24hr shutoff might push the condition over the edge resulting in a tank crash..

or...

Your tank is in pristine condition with little bioload and shutting off the skimmer wont effect any of your LS.

IMHO

Thanks guys,

my live stock in my tank consists of : 1x cleaner shrimp, 1 false clown, 2 damsel, 1 blue leg hermit & 1 snail. about 50kg of live rock, 5" sand

my reason of asking is that at certain time there isn't any skimate forming so was wondering why do we need to on the skimmer so long hours whereas I only feed them twice a day.

Like what other bros said, low bio load is not a problem.

Thanks guys!!
