I was using 2X150W MH with my resun CL 650 for few months ....

then switched to 2x250WMH with a pacific cool chiller...(similar option? )

my electrical bill also shot up more than a hundred monthly after that...

IF they are the one footing the bill, would be nice to keep them in the know.

get option 2. you wouldn't regret it. but let them know about how much will the electrical fee go up by. and the implications behind it. like cost of maintaining, pros and cons. but obviously, make sure pros outweigh cons by a hundred to one.

And by next year or when my chiller fails, then I will consider getting better ones.

quite a good option....I have changed my lights from 2x250w to 6X39W T5s for my 3x2x2 (may just add 2 more if it is too dim.... )

DB, welcome to the wonderful, colourful and cooler world of T5s!

8 tubes would be best for a 2ft wide tank, especially if you're intending to keep sps again.

Hi guys, just a short update:

I am going to convert my sump into a refugium ###### frag growout tank.

I have since gained the confidence of my parents to sponsor me the necessary stuff for it through my success from mushroom propagation.

About the cryptic system, I will still set that up using my old 2ft but that might happen only next year.

And good news to reefers out there, after I have collected different strains of various corals, I might consider selling the fragged/propagated specimens at low price or even give free

So give me your support by donating any frags or specimens so that I have a brood stock for continuous supply
