Tetra 5 In 1 Test Kit

I am thinking of buying a 4 in 1 or 5 in 1 test kit. I came across this Tetra 5 in 1 test kit and I was wondering whether is it reliable or not.

Any comments or recommendation?

I think it's PH, KH, NO2, NO3 and NH3

Salifert testkits come in individual boxes for each test parameter and do not come in sets.

Sorry a bit off topic, but can fresh water test kits be used? Cuz I think they will be cheaper than salifert?

Freshwater kits like JBL, Sera and Tetra tend to be less reliable and accurate. It's a waste of money. Ultimately, you end up having to get a Seachem or Salifert testkit.

Hi guys,

FYI, Tetra 5 in 1 strips cannot be used for saltwater. I have confirmed this with Tetra head office in Singapore.

If you have bought it because your LFS told you that it can be used, bring it back to them and tell them that it can't be used for saltwater. Ask them to verify it with Tetra distributor here.

Exchange for those individual testers.

cant confirm on others as still in cycling

but pH is somewhere same as Hagen, unless both wrong

however, IMO, won't be too accurate, just a general guide

Range in saltwater n fresh water parameters are different so use the correct ones.
