hanging over my tank temperorily on a piece of plywood with reflector and holder nailed on . making a hanging hood and shld be up by wednesday latest . will post pics then.

the metal ballast is earthed. will earth the reflectors later

can i spray paint plywood? must i laquer it first?

Spray. Ensure completely dried then a layer of PU varnish.

Hm.. why spray? Faster yes but spray paint somehow doesn't colour wood very well... gets absorbed or what...

Not too sure lah but that's what I have experienced in the past...

If you want a matt finish, I would suggest using wood stain instead. Matt varnish is not very matt.

Spraying is better than painting because it shows the grain better.
