I transfer them to this small container and feed them with brine shrimp and MP..making sure evey poly get to eat....is this the correct method?

Bro u are doing the right thing. To make things simple, why dont u leave it in the sump for sometime first so that u can target feed w/o disturbance from yr other LS. After which, u can transfer it back to the main tank. Just some suggestion.
