Hi would like to know how much does the sicce lose out to the OR by? planning to use as return pumps,

my main concern is heat generation, Sicce's 95watt vs OR's 115watt, by theory the sicce should run cooler, but i guess that might not be true

as Rio claim 90w for 8000l, but it seems to be running a little bit hotter.

so if users can give some info what they think of their sicce and or pumps, does or justify for its much higher price over the sicce?

and i read that sicce oem for tunze, so they must definately hold some qualities i guess,

Aquabee is the most sucky pump as return .... it only have zero over head ...

OR is good as return which a lot of reefers say so ...

For return pumps, i strongly recommend Eheim 1260/1262/1264 and Aquabee 5000.

Low wattage, reliable and hassle free.

As for sicce pumps, personally i dun like the design

For OR, its so BIG and e wattage is so high!

Humble tank :

Size: 4x2.5x2 ft - Display

Equipment :

Return 1 : Ecotech marine L1

Return 2 : Ecotech marine M1

CR : Skimz CM122 - Caribsea extra course media with Grotech magnesium

Light : ATI 8x54W

OR 6500 runs "zero" heat on the pump casing. i mean it has a good insulation inside the pump and when it runs, the heat will not able to transfer on it casing. i run it on external for my 2nd return. when you touch it, there is no temp at all.

eheim is a good pump and it can runs and uses for a long time. but it generates a lot of heat as pump goes bigger. i used eheim on my 1st return.

for the sicce, it does generate a lot of heat and much hotter. it don't have any insulation inside the casing (i guess).

thank bros for the feedbacks, looks like sicce is out of the picture now, i saw the or6500 in operation lastnite when i was buying my "new chiller" amazingly it runs with no heat externally, if thats the case then i can run it internally without heat too i suppose , but what eheim has is the heat protection which i have personally witness the effect, my CR union joint crack and leak water which i did not know, when i reach home the 1250 for the CR circulating pump was already running dry and when i touch it, it was very hot, but no choa tar smell, but i tot there goes my "2 days old" pump, then i tried to push water into the CR, then the pump just started running, hmm need to starting looking at 1264 and see how it performs in terms of heat , or the ultimate is to make a new sump with hole and run the rio 32hf outsump, but worried the rio might not last , headache

you can try aqua mart

i've consulted joe-p and his advice was that i use the wrong hose for my rio hf32, change to a 1 inch hose and now my rio runs cooler and the water flow is amazing, now i feel that its too much flow because i am only keeping softies and lps lol, anway thanks to all bros who replied , looks like for the time being i'm happy with the rio
