Yup Ketchup, it's still organ pipe. Think Jacky mentioned mine is harvested from different location.

Anyway just some updates for now... my canister failed me 2 weeks ago. Tank is running without filter, biohome and chiller for 2 weeks already. Tank has been running on my 2x huge fans I bought from polyart as a backup. Lucky I'm switched to LED. You cannot imagine how many mugs of RO water I'm topping up everyday now!

Luckily I have less than 5 pieces of coral left in my tank. But my beloved organ pipe and sunflower zoas are dying as a result of the higher temperature. :( Don't ask me what the temperature of my tank is. With the weather so hot, I refuse to take the temperature of my tank or I know I will start freaking out.

And for the latest update: Ian has completed my customized overflow box! :) I will be rushing down tonight to collect it so can expect some pics later tonight!!! Excited! Can't wait for Sun for Vincent to install my new sump + pipings + overflow.

Think I'm gonna have a looong night mixing saltwater... Did I mention my salinity probe is also malfunctioning? Dunno how I'm gonna mix saltwater like tt... :paiseh: lucky I got a cheapo hydrometer as backup. Seems like my initial 'investments' for backup equipment is paying off in this period of murphy.

If you need to loan anything, just let me know Comy. And dun let your sunflower die!

why don't just buy Saltwater if you need a lot?

Thx for the offer! Just need to tahan another 2 more days... hopefully all goes well.

I don't like to buy saltwater, then screw up my parameters. Always trust my D-D H2Ocean salt :)

different. xenias are soft corals that grows on stalks and have 5 tentacled polyps attached to the central stalk. Pipe organs are soft corals that grow in a colony, with each polyp growing inside a little calcerous tube, side by side each other. Although pipe organs have brittle calcarous skeleon, they are considered soft corals because their "skeleton" is very wear as compared to the hard calcium carbonate skeletons of LPS

many corals have 5 tentacled polyps that look like xenias. hence many reefers confuse xenia, anthelia, pipe organ, cloves, etc etc.

ehhh.. Comycus... i thought that looks like a Xenia and not pipe organ...Very nice specimen nevertheless. :)

indonesian pipe organs have polyps that look like xenia.

Only those from deeper water fiji have thicker petals, resembling flowers.

the normal pipe organs are always thin petaled- xenia like. Fiji ones are rarer, more ex, and more beautiful.

Some updates on my tank as promised. Customised overflow box by Ian of I-Aquatics. I have not touched the box since I collected it last night, so this is a first impressions. Workmanship looks good. Finishing could have been better but since it was a rushed job, I'm satisfied. Hope it will pass the water test tonight.

First up, the small little overflow box that's going to sit inside my tank.

Compare the size of the box to the one that's gonna be sitting behind my tank where 2 durso pipes are located!

post-16489-1273324306212_thumb.jpg

Was quite surprised that it is almost as big as my MCE 600! Not really complaining there :) Anyway this is what it should look like when set up... excluding 2 U tubes that will siphon water from the blackbox to the whitebox :whistle

Check out the 4 inch acrylic plate that will be sitting on my tank.

Wow,gd one! ;)

Bro my tank left with almost live rocks only... lol hope to build it back up with my upgrade!

Nah I already have a whole bucket of salt to mix. Buy NSW = waste more money in my case. Although I must admit there are times I really feel lazy and wish to use NSW instead.

wow nice overflow!

Thx bro, hope no more murphy after tmr! :D

Anyway, I took a shot of my prized powder blue tang. Hope this bugger survives in my tank for a loooong time! Should be quite stablised already since it's been in the tank for ~2 mths? Not too sure actually...

Feeding ferociously. Can see abit of white spots which just developed coz I have been meddling with the tank for the past week, hope it disappears soon.

Think PBT's stressed... better not meddle with my tank for the next 2 weeks to let it settle down. :) Guys with your tanks I'm sure you will be able to add in powder series! Just let the tank mature. :D

Anyway I'm super impatient. Waiting for my sump to arrive :yeah: The wait is killing me! So decided to take a pic of some new hardware. I know Eheim is the preferred pump but I chose to go with Aquabee coz it's cheaper and has lower wattage. Hope my decision is a right one!

post-16489-1273375665435_thumb.jpg

Also bought a tunze magnet cleaner to clean my dirty tank walls. My cheapo china magnet cleaner wasn't doing a good job at cleaning algae...

Unboxing!

Pumps side by side, got myself an AB2000 and AB2000/I

Just some random shot of the pumps... I hope the combined flowrate is not too powerful for my overflow box. The published flowrate for the overflow is 4500l/hr but mine has an additional 4" of acrylic plate, so the flowrate would be reduced.

Latest update: the 2 boxes have passed the water leaking test!

Overflow box,check

Pumps, check

mixed saltwater, check

Patience... err... checked

eheim pumps are known to last >20 years lol.

i rather go for eheim due to the extreme reliability. they hardly spoil.

but aquabee is not bad too.

Yeah I agree with you, and actually I think Eheim pumps look better :P But then again my Eheim canister pump also spoilt on me.

I'm using RO water bro. Slept at 2+ last night due to it
