PL brighter than FL, definitely. Watt for watt it is brighter.

Longer life, definitely no. The tubes tend to get brittle in time and have a tendency to crack more than FL.

I gave up after my PL broke in 3 months. I think they last longer than that but somehow the heat causes the glass to be weaker.

There's no 10000K Iwasaki MH bulb. I highly recommend that you go take a look at the colours of different MH bulbs before deciding.

Was at that LFS at Chinatown last night and saw a 4' casing with 2 PL lights. Brand is Denyo and is Taiwanese. Cost~$80. One PL tube is white (55W, was told 10kk, but no K marking) and the other a white and pinkish. (also 55W, 10KK). The casing is very thin and slim (~3x1.5") Thinking of getting the white/pinkish PL tube exchange for a actinic blue PL tube. Lady boss said it has e-ballast. Anyone try this brand b4 ? Need yr advice b4 buying as there are a lot of imitations in the market.

With 6 PL, you have to be careful cause the water volume is not large. If it get's too hot you can reduce to 4.

Weather's not too bad today. Frost and bit of snow in the morning but cleared up by now for warmer but stormier weather this week.
