thinking of getting the 180W model for my 2x2x2.5ft tank.. anyone advise whether it good enough for the 2.5ft depth?

btw what the cost of the 160W and 180W model like?

2.5ft depth good enough to keep what?

fish only - yes

low light corals - yes

LPS - maybe, check with delightings

SPS - most prob not beyond 1.5ft

If you are intending to keep less than 40% SPS in yr tank, it is enough provided you place yr SPS at the top and directly under the LED.

The thing about LED, it does not have reflector to "spread" the light rays and because it is direct light, there will be shadows and those corals at the corners will not get that much par, unless you customise your LED fixture to cover every inch of yr tank.

But if you are starting out with soft and LPS corals, 160 / 180 W is good enough for yr 2.5ft depth.

You tank is 32 inch deep you need a 35 to 45 deg lens to bring the light down to the tank base.

Normal leds without lens has light dispension of 120 deg to 135 deg.

The penetration with lens is only 12 to 15 inch

IMHO, you must thanks to the 2x30W LEDs :eyebrow: , else I dun think 3W w/o len can penetrate the 30" deep tank lor :whistle !

Just wondering, is anyone having the 700mm model yet? From what I see from other websites, it does not have a timer and controller like the 400mm model?

And wondering if the 180mm model (60w) having 2 different plug to control the blue and white seperately or only 1 plug?

Seeing light at the bottom of your tank does not mean lite is penetrating well .

Is that light enough or useful for your life stock?

Only a light and PAR meter can tell.

If you using LS to tell if the light is enough then 2 to 3 months time the result will show.

Of course those less light demanding LS will have no issue.

Is that 30" from the sand bed to the actual "space" between the LED's and the waterline?

Also, how is the ambient temp running two of them at the same time?

If you can install 45 Deg lens on the led maybe just meet the basic requirement.

The led to led distance also must not be more then 1.5 inch apart.

If the above 2 requirements can be meet you can meet the basic requirement
