cedricang
BroNeo where's the collection location?Looking at my tank specs can keep digitata? Hi Bro Andy, Hope i didnt get it wrong that your question is for me If so, will be happy to share with you a little of my 2 cents worth of view. Have the hornor to go through your tank thread and seems like your bioload is pretty low for the moment... which is a plus point for keeping sps well ! First and foremost is water quality. As you might have learnt that sps requires very good water quality : low nutrient, right KH / Ca / Mg level is the basic formula for a fairly successful sps tank . If you have these parameter right, you are one big step towards a good sps keeper ! Lighting wise, you have a "sps proven" ATI module and that should also provide you a good chance of keeping sps. Better still if you can get hold of the power module would be excellent. However, you may have to relocate your LPS ( such as tourch or hammer etc...) which can be a little overwhelming and unfriendly for the sps. Other experience reefers like lemonlemon has rightly suggested you to place them lower to avoid bleaching... so just nice for your sps to take over the spot. Most Sps requires a fair amount of lightings ( but not all species ), in fact some of the most beautiful sps requires low lightings and is a plus point too. Hope am not too long winded... but you can sought good advise from other senior reefers such as Thomas Lim, Joe P to name a few for good advise ! I would be happy to help up in anyway i could too You can try out a frag first to see if it works in your tank and then slowly increase your collection later, no hurry. Hope above helps ! cedricang
Yeah my question is for u bro. dunno how come my iphone suggested broNeo when i typed bro. haha.thanks for ur comprehensive write-up btw, which of ur frag is more tolerant towards lower lighting? Bro Andy, Pheww... so the question is for me Glad that you find it useful ! As for lighting, the German blue digi is a no-no if there is not enough lighting, will have difficulty holding the blue, so not recommended if its not given a proper lighting level. The chilipepper monti, salmon pink, lumi green poci and radioactive is a good choice for lower lighting. In fact, both the radioactive and chilipper will thrive better under a lower light condition ( my observation is that they tend to bleach under high light and eventually perish ). Both the salmon pink and lumi green poci can do well either high or low lighting but i do notice a more intense colour with higher light given. Above are just my personal observation, may be otherwise for other reefers. Cheers ! Quote Treat others the way you wanna be treated...
