golden rhomboid has popeye

just noticed that my golden rhomboid which i recently bought about a week ago has a swollen left eye. he has been hiding under the rock.

is this the 'popeye' disease?

i have other fishes in the tank. is this contagious?

is there any remedy for this?

what causes this sickness?

A famous answer would be "fish knock against each other and thus they get pop eye".

But no, this is a bacterial infection. You need anti-bacterial medications if the condition does not improve.

Always something more important than fish.

sometimes do not heal, will then lead to blindness.

keep your water condition high. change water etc if you are hesitating of treating it with medication.

what medication should i get? and where can i get this?

will other fish be affected? I believe most of the people wont be able to answer that question of yours. But from my experience, it didn't affects my fish.

Try to improve the water quality by doing more frequent wc. All the best.

No lar. The rhomboid is the male one. I bought him a gf (your one) and he died on me.

Your female is adjusting nicely and eating everything now... Pellets and all..

My archilles tang now a little cloudy eye. U guys sure this is not contagious???
