Don't mention it, glad that i could help. You've got a really lovely tank, with healthy beautiful fishes.

Yes thank you for the small frags and greatly appreciate it, i must say our prayers were answered when she started to perform and we were very lucky it happened up front.

I think this IS the photo of the mth.

As spoken with you on my male bellus injury any chance it will recover?

wow!

the injury is quite severe. however i don't see signs of infection or soreness which isn't as bad as i had imagined.

you could try treating it in melafix and hope it somehow recovers. the wound is deep and it might not heal and the fish might die. so be prepared. even if it recovers and heal, it will never heal properly and there will definitely be a huge scar and the colours will be gone on that side.

if such an injury were to occur on humans, a skin graft would have to be done to cover up the hole.

Bought the medication but don't think will add it in. Don't want to upset the system. Will just pray and feed it and hope it recovers.

Melafix is safe for usage in main tank... It is harmless to most corals, at least for softies... Not sure if sps will be affected...

Pls do not dose melafix into the main tank unless necessary. Esp if u hav SPS.

Melafix will cause skimmer to go haywire and will need to be shut or turn down for at least a week.

Best is u can catch out the fish and dose in a separate QT.

The injury of your angel is superficial and can be treated effectively w melafix. My angel also kena this before and i healed it almost completely w melafix in a month.

ok actually after looking at the pic.

it's not as serious as i expected.

it looks like the surrounding scales are just discoloured and there's a small indentation in the middle.

jeremy just try melafixing it if you can and i wish your bellus the best of luck! :)

Digiman the wound is deep, i can even see the flesh and its pink!

Yes base on instructions by API, skimmer has to be shut down and carbon medium removed.

Anyway guys thanks for the concern and lets not dilute LL's thread.

Back to the topic, really like the hooded wrasse flashing, its really so fascinating when you see it 'LIVE'

From the pic i cant see that it is deep. It is jux widespread but there is no redness or sores.

It is jux spreading and slowly eating into the flesh. So if u catch out still got cure.

If there is redness (infection), it would hav killed the fish when the patch is half the size now. So if it's so big patch and still not killing the fish tat means it is not overly serious, so still got hope to cure. But dun expect the wound to heal perfectly, it'll leave a scar.
