Acro frag

Recommended Posts

Attached is the pic of my acro frag.

Got this frag 3 months ago.

It was just 2 stump and bleach white in colour with very light green polyps.

Now it has sprouted a nos of branches.

Overall size of the frag is just 2" only.

The colours of the acro did not really show up.

The tips are actually purple.

I took the pic to show the growth rate after 3 months.

I think it looks like the tri colour that tanzy has and it comes from the same place. Maybe it was a frag from that colony.

The colouration looks the same but the polyps are larger than my acro's polyps and the corallites look different. After the flatworms are dead and this guy grows a bit more, maybe we can swop?

Care to share how you manage to make it grow? I.e. lighting, circulation etc.

Hi nanno

Keep it under intense sunlight (outdoor tank) and circulation.

Keep calcium around 420ppm (last measured)

Keep alk high (did not measure)

I have a DIY cal reactor and also I am now mixing calcium hydroxide as top up water everyday.

Nanno,

When we make it big in business, we shall become neighbours and make our dream 20 ft x 10ft x 6 ft deep reef tanks in our backyard and we invite all the another forum to come and dive in to drool.

I cannot imagine a reef tank doing so well using natural sunlight and some more out of the house.

Wonder what's the temp fluctuation like.

Don't forget to add the beach! I wonder why hasn't any one converted a swimming pool into a reef pond.

Tanzy,

Can you provide the babes and foam for the wild parties all of us will be having ?

if that comes true ?

Wonder how much HP for the chiller would be required. And how many 1000W Radiums and Iwasaki bulbs we have to buy to supplement the natural sunlight.

Must strike Toto this thursday.

Ask AT and MrJoe for the girls. I'll supply the foam from my skimmer waste collector.
