I had a friend in this region that is doing this business. They uses traditional methods of catching, away from drugs or exposive.

As for price, i think is very reasonable as they are doing mainly export to europe and asia.

(all medium size)

Eg: Emperor angel @SD$40/ Two Colored Angelfish or Eibl’s @SD$4.50. Latticed Butterfly@SD$6.00 / Brown Sailfin Tang@$8 and so on...

Cheap rite? Still can be cheaper if i managed to get more boxes in. I put this notice , not to earn profit but to gather more pple to order coz i need to order at least 100 LS to fill up one box minimum. PM me your LS choice and Qty..

I will then let u know the prices.. lastly, a 50% deposit is required before i make the order to avoid no collection when LS arrived. THks

Hi chris21,

the price is sure attractive. However, I have some queries.

For every shipment of LS, there will sure be DOA. Unless u can guranttee that the LS come arrive in gd condition, not dead or dying.

If unlucky, the LS didn't make it, will i be able to collect back my deposit???

For yr side, if the LS arrived dead & buyers are able to refund the deposit, who is going to cover yr shipping cost.

Most of the time, the shipping actually cost 1 to 2 times the LS cost. So, the total will not be cheap.

I assume the box is standard size we normally see in farms or shops. To squeeze 100 LS into 1 box is possible. Unless they are small fishes. but if u gonna include angels, butterfly...its not possible. They are bigger & need bigger packing.

Just my opinion.

Cheers.

Wei :)

bro, i think u have to get a license first, cost u $350 (if im not wrong)and u have to show that u r company distributor or exporter. try calling AVA first before u make any drastic moves.... i did had a contact before from the Philippines and i was able to negotiate w them 5 boxes of ls, fishes and invertibrates for merely US$120.... luckily i checked it with AVA and they knew the situation... they asked me if im a hobbiest and so i told them i am... they started telling me incidents previously that happened which are same cases as mine, and in the end, the hobbiests got it more expensive or left it in the customs.... try checking it with AVA, just to make sure...

Be realistic guys... many of us have been in this hobby long enough to have 'friends' and 'contacts' for cheap livestock. Many of us have tried importing... but gave up due to sheer frustration and lack of confidence (not in ourselves).

I won't want to start telling you about the problems you will face with DOA livestock and shady characters who send you rubbish after collecting your money. How much do you know about the collector?

What are you going to do with sick, damaged or dying fish? Do you the acclimatization skills and treatment know-how on how to cope?

Do you even know the kind of paperwork that you have to clear with AVA and the Singapore customs, not to mention worry about the transportation planning and the handling? Are you clear about the actual costs including transportation?

But if you want to try out this bulk order, I wish you lots of luck coz you will need it!

But I will be tracking this thread also because it borders on commercialism coz I do not know if you are working for a LFS or not. Perhaps if you can be more transparent?

Hi chris21,

Since someone had brought up the issue of paperwork. Just to add that one will need to have import/export licence.

Getting hold of the licence is more than just paying money. There are many requirements.

Of course, if u are able to get the LS & the price is gd, no harm trying.

As for Helfrich's dart goby, I think its found in the western pacific region if i remember correctly. Not sure can find in Indo or the phil.

cheers!

Wei :)
