  1. The potential flooding is my biggest concern. Jacky advised to use float switch. I'll probably fix one each for outlet and return to cut the flow should one of the powerheads fails.
  2. Thanks bro. Let me try to incorporate this in. We may be able to pull this off.
  3. Hi Guys, anyone here has done up a sump for their nanocube? I've been toying with the idea for quite some time but is stuck with the portion on getting the water into the sump. Normally, an overflow system will do the trick but the nanocube does not have that. 2 separate pumps for intake and outlet is suicidal. If one of the pump fails ......I'll be looking at a major disaster. Ideas anyone? If at the end of the day, the concensus is "no-go". I'll scrap the plan entirely.
  4. has not set their status

  5. Bro, got picture of your sump?
  6. You should consider 1/10. Bro Vtec is right. Artica is a good choice. More pricey than the China-made ones but they have local service support and they're fast in response.
  7. Bro, remember that the smaller the tank, the more difficult it is to maintain the water parameters. Small tanks (anything less than 2 ft) has almost no buffer for any changes and don't be surprised if you see a spike within half a week. Test the water regularly to ensure it's tip-top for your babies in the tank.
  8. Actually, I chanced upon his photo gallery when looking at his posted videos. (Pardon me for intruding, Jervis) You should try the official ADA site. They have amazing tank galleries.
  9. RO water produces super pure water but the RO device is damn expensive to maintain. DI water, from what I've heard, is devoided of heavy ions and nutrients. The water will actually try to balance itself out by absorbing depleted ions and nutrients from the surroundings or living tissues. Thus, it'll be best to treat the DI water with trace elements before adding into the tank.
  10. Saw his fresh water planted tanks. Pretty amazing shots. As with his reef "adventures", he's using some top of the line tanks and eqpts from ADA.
  11. Wow!!! Your tank looks really good. Love that piece of mixed zoas.
  12. Work hard and play hard mah. GO's stuffs are quite pricy but the assortment and condition of the LS are amazing!!!
  13. Red cynarina, very small, very cute sz. As usual, lousy cam, cant show the true color. Abit skeleton exposed, hope it heals. You cyan looks stressed. The skeleton is showing. How's it doing now?
  14. As the old saying goes, "the old don't go, the new don't come". My condolence to the casualties. Hope you'll get over it and populate it with more brilliant LS.
  15. NIce collection of mushies you have there.
  16. Yes, show us your tank in its full glory!!! Would love to see how it looks like.
  17. Just came back from GO. TOTALLY BLOWN AWAY!!!!!!!!! The place is fantastic! Gotten myself a turquoise zoo and a blasto. This is officially my favourite LFS now.
  18. Although they call it iodine, the liquid is actually a concentrated form of potassium iodide (if my memory haven't fail me). You're right that pure iodine is brown. But the one that you've got is in ionic form so it'll be clear. No worries. You've not been cheated.
  19. Cool!!! Thanks bro. Making a trip tomorrow liao.
  20. I've never been to GO but sure am hearing lots about it. Can you PM me the address. I really have to pay them a visit. Thanks a million
  21. I bet you'll have to pay extra attention to the water parameters. Any slight changes is going to offset the balance by a great deal as there's almost no buffer But do keep us posted on the progress. I'm feeling the itch to set up a nano in my office.
  22. Very nice!!! Great scaping.
  23. I sure will. I'll probably post pics of my tank soon and get comments from all the old birds.
  24. I've thought about that but mine is a hooded NC24 nano tank. The lighting is not strong enough and the water condition may vary too much for the SPS to stay happy.
